This review is strictly based on the billing department and not the quality of services rendered In a gist, San Diego Pathology rendered identical services on 7/27/and 10/15/ Specifically, biopsies for atypical skin growths Only co-pays were due for both visits but San Diego Pathology assessed an additional $for the second visit They have acknowledged the error but to this day (8/26/16), the issue is not resolved Below is a detailed log of events: 7/27/- I visited Michelle P on 7/27/ She performed a biopsy and the skin was sent to San Diego Pathology for analysis My co-pay for the doctor visit was $ No other charges from DrP or San Diego Pathology were assessed 11/18/- 11/23/15: Exchanged several emails with Chris H from MedDerm Associates regarding billing issue He pointed me to San Diego Pathology 11/25/15: Got Sally T (from San Diego Pathology) and AETNA on the line Sally acknowledged billing error on her end and needs to be corrected by office manager (Amber) Advised office manager is out of town so she probably won’t get back to me until next week 12/1/15: Followas I never received call Sally advised that I don’t need to folland that office manager will call me back 3/6/16: Received notice from Collections in the mail 3/7/16: Spoke with Office Manager (Amber) Recapped issue - Had telecon with AETNA, Sally T and me over statement Sally confirmed billing error and will forward to office manager Apparently, this never happened so Amber advised that she will contact Sally and then call me back She will also stop the collections process Ensure I get an official letter from Collections Agency that I am no longer being pursued 3/10/16: Spoke with Sherri (Amber is her supervisor) and she gave me the following update: She contacted the Collections Agency (CMRE) and spoke with Olga She provided Olga with my current Kansas address (as CMRE mailed the notice to my old address) Olga stated that my claim was never reported to the credit bureau so it shouldn't appear on my credit report Olga will be mailing out a confirmation that my collections has been cancelled today or tomorrow Sherri also filed an appeal with my AETNA to bill me just as I was billed for the 7/27/services Appeal can take up to business day from the day they receive the appeal Appeal should be received by 3/18/at the latest business days from that day is be 5/19/ Sherri's contact information is below: 888-307-x sherri[redacted] .com 3/17/16: Received letter from CMRE indicating that the “account has been cancelled and removed from our collection agency” 6/28/16: Called AETNA and they have no record of appeal being filed by Sherri 8/23/16: Emailed sherri[redacted] .com requesting status of appeal 8/25/16: Have not received a response from Sherri so I called San Diego Pathology Someone picked up the phone and took my message 8/26/16: Still awaiting Sherri to contact me

This review is strictly based on the billing department and not the quality of services rendered. In a gist, San Diego Pathology rendered identical services on 7/27/15 and 10/15/15. Specifically, biopsies for atypical skin growths. Only co-pays were due for both visits but San Diego Pathology assessed an additional $127.94 for the second visit. They have acknowledged the error but to this day (8/26/16), the issue is not resolved. Below is a detailed log of events:
7/27/15 - I visited Michelle P on 7/27/15. She performed a biopsy and the skin was sent to San Diego Pathology for analysis. My co-pay for the doctor visit was $40. No other charges from Dr. P or San Diego Pathology were assessed.
11/18/15 - 11/23/15: Exchanged several emails with Chris H from MedDerm Associates regarding billing issue. He pointed me to San Diego Pathology.
11/25/15: Got Sally T (from San Diego Pathology) and AETNA on the line. Sally acknowledged billing error on her end and needs to be corrected by office manager (Amber). Advised office manager is out of town so she probably won’t get back to me until next week.
12/1/15: Followed-up as I never received call. Sally advised that I don’t need to follow-up and that office manager will call me back.
3/6/16: Received notice from Collections in the mail.
3/7/16: Spoke with Office Manager (Amber). Recapped issue - Had telecon with AETNA, Sally T and me over statement. Sally confirmed billing error and will forward to office manager. Apparently, this never happened so Amber advised that she will contact Sally and then call me back. She will also stop the collections process. Ensure I get an official letter from Collections Agency that I am no longer being pursued.
3/10/16: Spoke with Sherri (Amber is her supervisor) and she gave me the following update: She contacted the Collections Agency (CMRE) and spoke with Olga. Olga will be mailing out a confirmation that my collections has been cancelled today or tomorrow. Sherri also filed an appeal with my AETNA to bill me just as I was billed for the 7/27/15 services. Appeal can take up to 45 business day from the day they receive the appeal. Appeal should be received by 3/18/16 at the latest. 45 business days from that day is be 5/19/16.
