Review: San Diego Retina Associates and I have a difference of opinion about how a co pay assistance program they signed me up for would be applied to my very, very expensive co pay. To resolve the issue I made several phone calls, met with an administrator there, and sent several letters explaining my case. In early April I called and asked their response to my most recent letter. I was told the only person who could help me was out of the office until May 1. I waited three weeks, then called on May 1, a Friday and was told she would be in on Monday, May 4. I called on May 4, they said she would be in on Tuesday, May 5. I called May 5, they said she would be in on Wednesday, May 6. I called May 6, and when told to call back on May 7, I asked if I was getting the run around. I was assured no. I called back on May 7, and was told she was in that day and would call me back if I left a message on her voicemail, which I did. I got no call back so I called again later in the day and was told she didn't come in that day, and was told to call back May 8. I told that person I was told earlier that she was in that day I asked again if I was getting the run around. I was assured no. Obviously at this point it is pretty clear that San Diego Retina and Associates are either lying to me and I am getting run around, or they just don't care or are organized enough to get me in touch with someone who can resolve this very expensive issue for me. This is an issue for which prior to me agreeing to a very expensive treatment, San Diego Retina Associates made several reassurances to me about the cost, then the cost to me increased dramatically once the treatment was received. As a result of this inconsistency I lost real money out of my pocket. It is hard to believe that someone I trusted with my health and my eyesight is so unprofessional and so uncaring.Desired Settlement: I would like San Diego Retina Associates to call me and give me a reason for not applying the co pay assistant program I was promised. I would also like them to give me a reason my issue has not been treated with more promptness and professionalism, given the tremendous cost this will be to me if they refuse to resolve it. Their lack of care about me and this expensive issue has been very, very stressful for me.
