To whom it may concern: When asked how to take care and what pads to put under the rugs, we explained what to clean the floor with and to buy the rug pads that looked like little BB's glued together. We told them they could be purchased at [redacted], [redacted], or [redacted] to name a few. Then a few...

weeks later I received a phone call saying they had a checker board pattern on the floor under the rugs. Now if they had used the pad we recommended and their was a problem it would have been little dots, not squares. So I told them I would come look at it. The pad they had bought distorted the stain under the finish. Which first off  tells me the pad was put down before the floor had completely cured. If they would have used the wrong pad after the floor as cured, it would have distorted the finish not the stain. Which wouldn't have made as big a problem.  But the [redacted] owner insisted that they waited longer than the week recommended. The worse damage on the floor was under their 175 pound dogs bed. I explained to them it was not my fault and would not be responsible for their floor. They asked me how much it would cost to fix it. I explained we would have to strip it back down to raw wood and start over, so it would be the same price as before. When I asked if he wanted a new invoice, he replied that they had the old one and would just use it. Then they scheduled right then to have the work preformed. When I left I felt sorry for them so I figured that I would help them out and redo it at my cost. As you can see in the original invoice I included, the price of refinishing the floor was $1,182.50. Once we finished the job I figured up how much I had in the job and went to find him for payment.. I found him in his office in the basement. He had his copy of the original invoice and check book laying out on the back of one of his chairs. When I told him the total and that I tried to help him out by only charging him cost. It would be $800. The response I received wasn't expected. He started accusing me of over charging him, and he couldn't believe it cost that much to do his floor. So after he played with his phone for a few min. he wrote me out a check and we parted ways. 3 gallons [redacted] Traffic HD polyurethane = $4201 quart [redacted] stain = $202 pieces sand paper for the big sander = $305 edger disks = $51 buffer screen = $51 sweeper bag = $8Fuel for the van $105My helps pay for the job = $200Brings the total to $793
