Sanctuary Windows And Doors Reviews (%countItem)

I hired this company on 6/27/19 to remove and replace 7 window sills in my home for $750. The company was inside for 3 hours, rushed the job, did not finish the work and cause damage to my walls. I contact the owner to no avail, which he resorted to sarcastic and condescending comments. This caused an additional 4 hours of labor and materials in order to repair.

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like a partial refund of $350.00 to cover the costs of fixing the damage

Sanctuary Windows And Doors Response • Jul 20, 2019

I replaced 6 single sills and 1 four piece custom bay window sill for Mr., the price of 750$ included 200+ dollars of 5/4 x 7 inch poplar window sill, my cost. I was specifically contracted for carpentry work only, no finish work whatsoever was included, this was explicitly noted before the job commenced. When I left the home I even gave Mr. tips on what products to use for caulk and patch, and what to sand, so his claims that I was contracted to "paint ready" finish the job are disingenuous. The drywall damage below the sills would have been completely covered by the sill skirts that the sills where crafted to accommodate per the homeowners request. The only reason we did not supply and install those casing skirts was because the homeowner wasn't quite sure what style he would choose yet. It has become obvious to me that Mr. Howards main concern was that he perceived we made too much money in too little time. We where not contracted on a hourly basis, we had a specific consensually agreed upon scope of work and price that was executed and paid accordingly. Even so, the happiness and satisfaction of our customers is of the utmost importance to us so had Mr. contacted me, as he claimed, I would have gladly done anything in my power to please him. Instead Mr. embarked on a defamation campaign without contacting me at all, leaving dishonest and damaging reviews on a number of sites and then tried to extort me to have them removed when I contacted him. 350$, though an exorbitant sum, even if his claims where true, Is a small price to pay to have our record expunged, however integrity and truth is very important to me. On principal I will not be paying Mr., It is our policy not to concede to terrorism. Subsequent conversations with Mr. have convinced me that his morality and trustworthiness are very questionable, I would not trust him to remove his reviews even if I did pay him.

As mentioned in my email, I can backed up my claim with photographs and text messages. Mr. wants to share with you a small piece of our lengthy text message exchange. These text messages are length and just a sad attempt of *** trying to get out paying any form of refund. There was never any extortion, defamation or other tactics as embellished by Mr.. I was a business owner years ago, and I'm a reasonable consumer, that's why I simply asked for a partial refund (not extortion) commensurate with the quality of work produced by Mr. and his handyman. I guess I should have sued him in small claims court, because I'm positive I would have prevailed. I see he will never do the right thing as a business owner, because *** relies on the one and done philosophy of business ownership. My claim stands, I'm requesting a partial refund of $350 to close the case which is more than reasonable due to the painting, repairs and corrections that had to made to the ***'s Windows and Trim poor workmanship.

Mr *** has added no new information, once again he has accused me of lying, this is the third time, above is not a portion of our text interaction, it is the complete interaction in its entirety. Once again he demands an unrealistic amount of money to cease his defamation. And most importantly he continues to make vague claims about paint and repair on what was very specifically a carpentry only job, no paint or paint prep was to be included. Damage below the sills would have been covered by the Casing sill skirts that the sills where designed to accommodate per the customers own request. I would submit an offer of 175$, to solve this situation, as an attempt at reaching a "middle ground".

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It is apparent *** has no intention of doing the right, as one would expect from an honest businessman. A $350 refund is what I have maintained all along which covers labor and materials. A customer should never have to fix or repair the work of someone they hire. I suffered damages as a result and $175 does not cover these damages.
