Review: I made a reservation for a few days in July 3-6 and made a deposit of $175.00which I put on my credit card. I was unable to make the trip so I called to cancel on July 2 and they offered me to switch my days so I wouldnt lose my deposit. I agreed and made reservations for Aug 23, 2013-Aug 25, 2013. On Aug 2, 2013, I emailed the Sand Castle and advise them that I had to cancel this reservation due to my son scheduled a college visit for that weekend. I was told that my credit card would be refunded $127.50. To this date, I have not been refunded. I have been in contact with the Motel and I sent them a copy of what they emailed me about my refund and I have asked for the General Managers name and contact number with no response accept that they are not refunding me.Desired Settlement: I want my card refunded $127.50 like I was told.

,Mrs. [redacted] originally made a reservation to check in on 7f3!2013. She called on 6/2612013 to cancel and at that time I told her she would lose her whole deposit of $170.00. As a courtesy I gave her the opportunity to reschedule. She said she would have to get back to me which took several days. At that time she made a reservation to check in on 8/23/2013 and then cancelled once again.

The first reservation was not cancelled in a timely manner. According to our cancellation policy no refunds within 14 days of arrival.

Review: I made a reservation for 8/28/2013 - 8/31/2013 and was charged $278.00 as a deposit fee on 6/27/2013. I made the reservation by telephone and was not informed of any cancellation policy. My credit card was charged the deposit fee of $278.00 on 6/27/2013. The confirmation email I received after my credit card was charged $278.00 included the following statement:

Deposits & Cancellations: A two (2) night rental deposit is required to confirm reservations. Deposit must be received within 7 days of making your reservation. Deposits are applied to the first and last day of reservation. In the event of a cancellation, 75% of your deposit will be refunded if notified at least 14 days prior to arrival date. There are no refunds for early Check-Outs or No-Shows. Refunds may not be applied to next season. No refunds for inclement weather. Misrepresentation voids reservation. Deposits are non-transferable. Balance due in full upon arrival. No personal checks accepted at Check-In. POLICIES & REGULATIONS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. MANAGEMENT HAS FINAL SAY IN ALL ISSUES REGARDING COMPANY POLICY.

I called to cancel my reservation on 6/30/2013 and was informed that I would only receive 75% of my deposit back. The room was reserved for a total of 72 hours and canceled 2 months in advance. In addition, I only received notification of this policy after my credit card had already been charged.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a full refund for the cancellation because it was made 2 months in advance and this business did not provide me with any service whatsoever and will not lose any profit from this transaction. I would like to receive the remaining 25% of the refund I am owed for the $278.00 deposit my credit card was charged, which is $69.50.
