Regarding Mrs. J [redacted] 's second statement, the Sandyland Reef Inn's decision is as follow: - Even though our housekeeper found the room neat, but with a broken remote control in there (as pictured and reported on the previous statement); the guest has enjoyed the hotel the entire stay, not mentioning any concern with prices or room conditions until has been cited over the damage in the room; have talked nicely with the manager, and have had the situation clearly explained without any creepier tone from both sides; it is the Sandyland Reef Inn decision to refund the guest. It is not our intention to have a previous guest suffering any longer due to "be nickeled and dimed to death" as on her own words; - Regarding the guest's request for deleting her information from our computer, it cannot be done. We digitalize our guest's information on our system to keep them properly protected, but accessible for future purposes. It is our policy to prevent upcoming unexpected relapses. A $15 is to be refunded to the guest by the current date. Sandyland Reef Inn wishes the best tor Mrs. K [redacted] . Sincerely, General Manager

Regarding Mrs. J[redacted]'s statement, I must accurate better the...

facts.
After the hotel's regular check out time, her room was found vacant, and it was investigated as it is routinely done by our maids. Out of the room has been found on a neat condition, the remote control was found damaged. Its back lid was taken off and broken, possibly due to the attempts of its removal; a stamp strategically glued to prevent this removal was tore apart, and the batteries were removed. The remote's condition was already pictured before being trashed, and it is available for further purposes.
There was a conversation with the guest later on that week, and it happened with respect and politeness as it should be. Out of her disappointing reaction with the refund's denial, the entire situation was well cleared and understood.
Even though the guest concerns with the hotel's price, we work toward to keeping it as affordable as possible, and it can be verified by comparing with nearby lodge's prices. Being a modest property, and offering the best accommodation under the more reasonable prices, we do care with every single feature we can provide.
As posted, we have reasons to charge damages accordingly. In addition, Mrs. K[redacted]'s violation, and other predicted ones, is unclosed on the hotel's guest's registration form, already assigned by the guest at the check in time.
For any further question, feel free to contact us at your own convenience.
Sincerely,

Review: My parents stayed in this hotel from 6/26/14-6/27/14.After filling out their paperwork, the manager of the motel (Marcos) gave my parents their key.My parents then went to their room, put down their luggage and went outside to meet with the other couple they came with. After about 10 minutes, my parents walked back to their room, only to realize the door was locked, but they had not locked the door. It turns out the Marcos gave someone else the keys to my parents room, these people went inside my parents room, moved their suitcases around and had Mcdonald's lunch in there. These people did not vacate the room until the manager came in and told them in was the wrong room, although they clearly knew they were inside the wrong room. These people were inside my parents room for at least 10 minutes, which was how long my parents were gone. My dad had $300.00 cash inside his suitcase, luckily this money did not go missing, but it could've easily been stolen due to the manager's negligence. I spoke to the manager for about 30 minutes and tried to resolve this without going to the Revdex.com and other online complain outlets, but he was very unreasonable and lost his cool real quick.Desired Settlement: I would like Marcos to give my parents a free night, or a refund for their trip. It is the least he can do if he wants customers to keep coming back to his motel.

Review: I stayed at Sandyland Reef Inn on Satuday night, 6/26.I was charged $184 (including tax, fees) for a substandard room (broken furniture, no end tables, reading lights, clogged toilet) but that was my decision to stay. I was too tired to go on.However, two days later, the manager, Marco, charged me $15 for a "broken remote" found in my room the next morning.I did not break the remote. I called and asked for a refund, and the manager refused, stating "my word against the maid's". I was irate. I then asked my credit card company, Sesloc Federal Credit Union Visa, to dispute it, but the minimal dispute charge is $25.This incident is disturbing, because, according to Yelp, this manager and motel has a history of false charges. I am most concerned because he has a record of my credit card number, and my conversation with him was very creepy and angry. He should be reprimanded please.Desired Settlement: Refund the $15 charge, and remove my credit card information from the motel system asap.
