Sandy's Towing & Auto Repair Reviews (3)

Told him we were closed and to come back we are open 9 - 5 Monday through Friday.  I have signs posted that say no refunds or exchanges on used tires.  He bought a used tire.  I do try and work with people but he never came back to the shop.

Review: We sent our college aged daughter there to have a part replaced on her jeep. My husband spoke with him first to make sure we were straight with what needed to be done. He quoted a price and said he knew exactly what needed to be done. He felt we should let her drive it until it broke and then he would tow it and fix it. We told him we wanted to be proactive and get the part replaced prior to putting her on the road and her getting stranded. He did the repair. When she went to get the jeep he said he did all he could but it seemed worse. She called her father. Her father asked if he did the replacement and bled the line. He said NO, he bought the kind that doesn't need to be bled. There is NO kind that doesn't need to be bled. He asked him to please bleed the line before giving it back to her. He informed us that he could not do that, did not know how and that the part he bought had a "pin" and it was not the type that needs to be bled. At that point he instructed our daughter to pay him and take the jeep back to campus. The jeep is in much worse shape now. We had to go get the jeep, it was not drivable. In having the jeep looked at again, the line SHOULD have been bled and was NOT. This then caused it to crack and spill all the fluids. This has now caused a second cost in repairing it and possibly even more damage to the vehicle. I spoke with them on the phone and they informed me that they would have kept it and changed out more parts but we wouldn't let them. We just needed the one part changed, we did not need him changing several other parts. He didn't even change the ONE part correctly. I told him I believed we were entitled to a refund, for the whole amount, but certainly for a portion of it, since we now had to have the repairs done elsewhere. Not to mention the cost of having to get it home and looked at. He informed me, "he don't do no refunds" and hung up on me! This is unacceptable. I believe he was taking advantage of a young female and not providing a service he claims he was able to provide. I believe he was looking to/trying to do more than needed to be done and possibly even tried to cause more of an issue to get more money. The cost of the part and repair was $150.00. He quoted the part at $90 and the labor at $60. The part, we discovered, was purchased at NAPA auto parts and runs $52. His labor was not professional or done correctly. The refund should at least cover the new part and the labor. Should it be determined that there is further damage to the vehicle due to the improper replacement of the slave cylinder and the leaking fluid, then we would expect that Sandy's Towing would pay the damages as well. I found this business to be totally unreasonable and unwilling to deal with us.Desired Settlement: Sandy's Towing should be refunding the money paid to them to repair the jeep. They did not repair it, in fact, they may have caused more damage to the vehicle. In which case, they should pay for those repairs as well. The $150 was paid to them in cash and should be refunded accordingly.

Review: I purchased three tires from Sandy's on February 21, 2014. On last week, Thursday, March 6, 2014 I was driving to work and the driver's side rear tire popped and shredded. A strip of the tread peeled away from the tire and knocked away half of my rear bumper, as well as a piece of paneling from the car leaving drastically noticeable damage to my vehicle (I do have photos of the tire as well as my vehicle). I called Sandy's numerous times to see what the warranty procedure would be, but I did not receive an answer. Because of my work schedule, the earliest that I could make it into the shop was on Saturday, so I rushed over. When I approached Sandy to tell him about what had happened, his response was "I said I'm closed." I had already purchased a replacement tire, so I did not want to cause any trouble, or even request anything from this business, I simply wanted to make him aware of the issue so that he would know for the future, but he obviously is not a person that has an interest in his customer's experience with his products.Desired Settlement: As a fellow business owner, I simply wanted to see what type of person he is and how he handles customer complaints, I now see that he simply ignores them.
