Review: I have graduated from Sanford Brown avout 3/4 years ago. When I watched the commercials at the time and went in for my intake I was told that the school is responsible for finding your externship site, no not true I found my own site and can prove that. Sanford Brown also sayed that they help you find a Medical Assistant job after graduation, another thing not true. I have been out of Sanford Brown for about 3/4 years abd gave not gotten a Medical Assistant job, but especially I have not received any help at all. So for me to pay off a loan that the school did not abide by what they say is ridiculous. But the get paid in federal loans from the students. Its not right and sonething needs to be done about it.Thank youDesired Settlement: They should pay my student loan back

Review: This school makes false advertising guaranteeing jobs as soon after completion. That they help and prepare the student and make the process easier, which they don't.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded on my tuition funds.

Review: this school give you false advertisement and they give you false hope and dream as I was intend the school I was told that as soon I graduated they would held me find a job well that was a lied they also told me that I was going to get a check for 2,516.17 cent for the remainder of my loan and the remaining of my bood pay unfortunately that was a lied as well. Everytime I call regarding my money they suppose to be giving to is a run arround and it's always they going to call me back so i'm asking better busines burau please help me get what they owe me and as well as paying their loan I can't even get in to that. I haven find s job for themDesired Settlement: to get back what I paid them my 13500 or my 2.416.17

Review: Sanford Brown Institute in NYC misled me when they informed me I will be attending a fully accredited school when I enrolled into their diagnostic ultrasound program in 2005. They informed me that the credits I would be earning would be fully transferable to other college institutions and that I would be eligible to sit for my board exam at the end of the program. I invested two and a half years into the program to then find out at the end that the classes were not transferable and that I would have to gain employment for one full year with pay (which is impossible to obtain employment without being certified) to be eligible to sit for the ARDMS exam. I recall when I first visited the school to discuss the program, I met with the student advisor/counselor. He was aggressive in character. He kept mentioning how much money I will be making once I graduate and start working as a [redacted]. He immediately had me meet with the [redacted], who presented me with papers and advised me to sign them so I can get financial approval because they wanted me to begin the next class that was about to start. I was young and naive, desperately looking to make a change in my career. I was never able to obtain employment as a [redacted] because I wasn't eligible to sit for my boards. Needless to mention, at the time, the cost of the program was $35,000. It was not explained to me that I would be taking out personal loans with extremely high interest rates to pay for this program. I am now in fully over my head with student debt and my credit has been damaged because I am unable to pay these high rate payments. I feel I was fully taken advantage of with their lies!Desired Settlement: I am looking to settle this matter by having the school compensate me by getting my loans reduced to at least the original amount of the loan with a low interest rate. I am not looking for a freebie or a hand-out, I just think it's unfair I am responsible for such a huge loan due to false information from this school.

Review: When I asked to become accepted as a student in Sanford Brown I was trying to get into the Ultrasound Technician program. They told me I needed a certain amount of college credits to be able to take the program. So they offered me either one of the 2 trades in their school to receive the credits, then the credits would allow me to take the Ultrasound Class. Either Medical Assistant or Medical billing. They advised me to take the Medical Billing course because I would only need 4 more college credits to enroll in the Ultrasound program, whereas Medical assistant would require more. The Medical Billing class was significantly more money then the Medical assistant program. The school also told me they were an accredited school, which I researched later and found out they are not, and the credits they told me would transfer did not. After completing the Medical Billing program, I asked how I would retain the additional needed credits and I was left with no answers. They gave me no information, did not offer assistance to receive the additional credits. I was basically told to come back after I found a college that I could take a course for 4 credits. I was scammed into taking an unnecessary $12,000 course, that turned out to not even be accredited.Desired Settlement: I do not want to pay the remaining balance of my student loan. In addition, I believe I should be refunded the years of payments I have made to this institute. I wasted a year taking classes for a trade that I did not want, unable to even transfer or use these credits towards an Ultrasound program. In addition to the school not being accredited.

Review: I received a letter in the mail stating that after an investigation obtained from Career education Corporation (CEC) which operates Sanford-Brown Institution, students who graduated between 2009-2012 were not in an accredited program. I graduated in 2011 and when I first registered for the program I was told the program is accredited until even after graduating. After contacting several numbers given by Sanford brown customer service , one person which I spoke to by the name of [redacted] from the sanford-Brown institute of [redacted], and was told they couldn't help me with this matter. They referred me to speak with [redacted] and I left a voicemail and waiting for a call back. All I want to know is if this letter sent to me is accurate and what steps should I take next if the information is correct. I would like to know if there is something we can do to rectified the situation and if a refund will be provided if it comes out if the school is not accredited. I dont want to pay for something if I'm not able to use my certificate to seek employment.Desired Settlement: To rectified the situation and be honor on what I had to pay for, for the time that I seeked my education at Sanford-brown Institute located at [redacted]

Review: I attended Sanford-Brown Institute in 2010-2011 with intentions of applying for the ultrasound technician program. I was told by the admissions dept that I would need to complete their medical assistant program that will provide me with enough credits to enroll into the ultrasound Technician program. After completion of the Medical Assistant course, I was told that I still needed more credits to enroll into the ultrasound technician program. They told me to attend a local community college to obtain addition credits. And then I was told by the local community college that my credits from Sanford-Brown Institute would not even be able to be transferred. I am now attending Nassau Community College, and only 9 of the credits I did at Sanford-Brown are accepted.Desired Settlement: I would like to get refunded for the classes that were not accepted as a transfer due to the fact that admissions at Sanford-Brown Institute had said that they would be accredited.

I like many others feel I was ripped off by this school. I received a very poor education, I'm finding out it' very hard to get a job and most employees dont like Sandford Brown.

I feel that Sanford Brown Institute was a waste of time and money, the school provides instructors without qualification and many of them were former students working in the field. Sanford brown have such a bad reputation in Westchester, because the school is known as ghetto school it' very hard to find a job, when we finish the program. I have made complains to all the agencies , in the students catalogs and they felt Sanford Brown is not at fault. When I decided to go back to school, they told me how bad this school was and it was not an accredited school, which they don't tell you that. I wasted a lot of money and time in this school and its very upsetting to even have to pay for this back. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE!!!

Review: I went to Sanford-Brown Institute school for a Medical Assistant Program was so close to finishing when the school location went out of business and did not inform me about where I would be able to go to school nor did they advice me about how I could stop my student loans. I wanted to know what can be done about this situation. it has been hard for me to go to any other school due to this loan. I can not take out any loan to go to another school. it is becoming bad on my credit.Desired Settlement: I would like to get this fixed so I can go on with doing what I need to do and fix my credit score.

Review: I was enrolled in the medical assistant program completed the entire course and based on the advertisement I would land a job in no time that was not the case and there wasnt much assistance from the school in landing a job in the feild that I study. I have since that time paid of majority of the student loan that I acquired.Desired Settlement: full tuition

Review: I attended Sanford brown in 2010. In the same year I was to complete my 6 month externship I married an officer in the United States Army and immediately re located due to military orders along with my infant son. I kept in touch with the school to try and work on an externship where I re located and the school was unable to accommodate the move. In 2011 I was to move to South Korea with my husband and child. I still tried to keep in touch with the school to work on something but they gave up. I have paid on the loans and this year contacted the school again to see if I could possibly take a review course and complete my ultrasound degree. They told me I couldn't do anything but re enroll and start from scratch. My mother who I lived with in New York died in 2010 as well. I also heard from my fellow classmates from Sanford brown that the better business burrow has contacted them about possible money back from this school.Desired Settlement: I would either like the opportunity to re take the course without having to take out more loans. My situation was unique and I had no choice but to leave New York. The school couldn't accommodate the move by providing a possible externship where I was. If they can't do that I would like them to free me from those loans.

Review: School gives false advertising on finding students a job right after completion.Desired Settlement: I am still being billed for attending this school, and now will like a refund for them not completing their part of the enrollment.

Review: I just became aware of a debt owed to this school due to attempting to go back to college. I needed to contact Sanford Brown to send me my transcripts from 2004 when I was told I owed $931 and they will not release any of my info unless paid in full. I am in disbelieve! I couldn't even set up a payment plan. So now I can not proceed with my current school due to Sanford Brown's unwillingness to work with me.Desired Settlement: Place me on payment plan to release my transcripts to me.
