Sanford Honda Reviews (2)

Sold a 2010 Honda Civic which had been involved in two accidents. I bought a Honda Civic LX Coupe 2 door 2010 car from Sanford Honda in April 23, 2014. When I went to trade it in for another 4 door car due to the fact that my wife and I want to start a family pretty soon, the auto check report came back stating that it had been involved in two previous accident, the frame has been also welded in the front, the front has been painted, and the odometer has been fixed or rolled back. When I made [redacted] the manager of this dealership aware of this issue he said that he wasn't aware of this issue and that as long as a car has been in a wrecked of less than 10% then it can still be sold with no issues in the title. This car is appraising at $4500 now, and will go to an auction if I trade it in, I feel cheated on since the beginning as I still owe $10,000 and paid $14,500 on this car.Desired SettlementI want a better deal on a preowned used car. Sanford Honda should pay off the remaining $10,000 I owe on the 2010 Honda Civic I currently am driving and give me a reasonable discount on another vehicle.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] General ManaContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@msn.comDear Sir or Madame:I am writing in response to the complaint made by [redacted]. Sanford Honda was not aware of the negative vehicle history reports on the vehicle with VIN [redacted]XXXXXX when Mr. [redacted] purchased it on April 23, 2014. Mr. [redacted] brought the report of damage to Sanford Honda's attention after he learned about the damage while attempting to trade the vehicle. He also claimed the odometer had been fixed or rolled back. That claim is untrue. Sanford Honda immediately offered him $7,500.00-the fair market trade-in value for the vehicle with no damage. This value is placed on the vehicle by 3 used car pricing guides. Mr. [redacted] declined the offer and would only accept the payoff amount which includes other fees associated with the purchase and does not factor in the miles he has put on the vehicle since 2014. Sanford Honda did not agree to pay the payoff amount due to those reasons. We have contacted Mr. [redacted] and his position has not changed as to the amount he wants for his vehicle and we feel our offer is very fair. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond to this matter. Please contact me with additional questions.Sincerely,[redacted]General Manager Sanford Honda Please look Kelley Blue Book link below for additional information:http://www.kbb.com/honda/civic/2010/lx-coupe-2d/?vehicleid=XXXXXX&in... look at Edmunds.com link below for additional information:http://www.edmunds.com/honda/civic/2010/st-XXXXXXXXX/appraisal-value... look at link for NADA guides link for additional information: http://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/2010/Honda/Civic-4-Cyl/Coupe-2D-LX/Values

Dishonest sales tactics used to sell Honda automobiles. In mid-November of 2015, me and my wife went to Sanford Honda in Sanford NC to purchase a 2015 [redacted] and[redacted]. The [redacted] for my wife was available but the[redacted] for me had to be ordered. We purchased the [redacted] and after about 3 weeks, the front bumper become detached on the passenger's side of [redacted]. We wanted the vehicle replaced since dealer service department stated this was a manufacturer defect and the bumper would have to be replaced and painted. We were told no big deal since robots put in on car. We decided to work with the dealer on replacing [redacted] with a 2015[redacted]. I talked to the general manager and was told that the price would include a warranty as was purchased on the [redacted] and we would not lose any money. The Honda rep was at the dealership we when arrived right before Christmas to purchase both cars and said Honda would give us a warranty on my car and the warranty on my wife's [redacted] would transfer to the new[redacted]. The General Manager told me that the Honda rep was incorrect about the warranty. He said it was for my wife's car. I asked him to get the Honda rep to come in finance office and of course was told Honda Rep had left and was at the dentist. I decided not to purchase the warranty on my car till hearing back from Honda rep but was told by finance officer that I had till 12/31/14 to purchase warranty at the one thousand dollar price. I was told again by general manager in finance office that I would not lose any money. I was prepared to pay difference between [redacted] and[redacted] but not take a loss. I asked about the thousand dollar difference since I was comparing to the price of the other[redacted] I was purchasing. He stated difference was the price of the warranty. With everything else going on in office, I lost site of the fact that I already paid for the warranty which was supposed to transfer to new[redacted]. I would have been OK if he would have been honest. I did not hear from the Honda rep by 12/31/15 and purchased the warranty for my car at one thousand dollars. I have not yet received my warranty on my wife's car since Honda rep said she could not give me anything in writing. All I have is a text message that I would be getting a warranty in thirty days on my wife's new[redacted] which was sent on 1/14/15 by Honda rep. The Honda rep told me on the phone that what she had told me previously was incorrect. I asked her for the number for [redacted] so I could form a complaint. The Honda Rep gave me the number but told me that the process would end up with her. I am very disappointed in the sales technics at Sanford Honda. The General Manager told me I would get a warranty with my wife's new[redacted]. What in fact actually happened was the dealer did not give me a warranty. He used the money from the warranty to lower the price of the[redacted]. So I actually paid for the warranty because there was a thousand dollar difference in my[redacted] before warranty and my wife's car which does not have a warranty. But Honda says they are giving me one. They are not giving us a warranty. I paid for it. Why would Honda rep and Sanford Honda make out like they are giving me a warranty (yet to receive) that I paid for?I purchased two cars from them and am ashamed I let them take advantage of me and my wife. I want to help make sure Sanford Honda does not treat future customers the way me and my wife were treated. I bought two cars from them. We were respectful and honest with them. Why didn't they treat us the same?I want to help make sure other 2015 [redacted]s do not have a bumper that may become detached. I was told by Honda rep that this was not a safety issue. If a bumper comes off a car going down the highway, is this a safety issue?Other issues worth noting: I was called about a survey when we bought the [redacted]. I thought it was confidential. I was asked by sales person what it would take to get a five star rating. The sales person knew the results of the survey and put me on the spot in front of peopleDesired SettlementI want what was agreed upon. No loss in money (1000 dollars)and a warranty on my wife's [redacted] which we have yet to receive. Business Response Re: Revdex.com Complaint Case #[redacted] To Whom It May Concern: Mr. [redacted] purchased a[redacted] from Sanford Honda in November 2014. Mr. [redacted] was unhappy with this vehicle once our service department discovered there was a defect in the bumper. The agreement was Sanford Honda would sell Mr. [redacted] a [redacted] and take the [redacted] in on trade and that he would have the same extended warranty on the [redacted] that he had on the [redacted] Mr. [redacted] also purchased another 2015 [redacted] which he thought he would receive the same warranty for free. That was a mistake since the second [redacted] had nothing to do with the original [redacted] deal. Sanford Honda has verified with Honda that the extended warranty is in place on the first [redacted] and now considers the matter closed. All numbers were agreed upon and all corresponding paperwork was signed by Mr. [redacted]. Please contact me with any other questions regarding this matter. Sincerely, [redacted] General Manager Consumer Response Mr. [redacted] is right in that I finally received a warranty for my wife's car after multiple phone calls and text messages will the Honda representative. Sanford Honda did not help with this matter. Mr. [redacted] stated that I expected a free warranty on my 2015 [redacted]. I expected a warranty on my car because the Honda representative told me and my wife that I would receive a warranty and her warranty would transfer because of the issue with the 2015 [redacted] I did not ask for the warranty on my car as part of resolution to my complaint. I ask for the thousand dollars overage (Paying for warranty twice) we paid on my wife's car and a warranty on her car. I am sorry to hear that Sanford Honda considers the matter closed. I do not consider the matter closed. I wish to leave my complaint on file with the amendment that the warranty was received on my wife's car two months after purchase date (12-19-14).[redacted]Final Business Response The agreement that Mr. [redacted] had with Sanford Honda was to trade the [redacted]and get the [redacted] for the agreed upon price and to have the same warranty on the [redacted] he had on the [redacted]I think where the confusion is coming in is with the [redacted] he purchased the same day. The agreement between Mr. [redacted] and Sanford Honda never included an extended warranty on the [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] never paid for a warranty twice. He purchased a warranty for the [redacted]which was applied to the [redacted] and he purchased a warranty for the [redacted] (which never had anything to do with the original transaction regarding the [redacted]and [redacted] trade). Sanford Honda has fulfilled all of its agreements with Mr. [redacted] concerning the trading of the [redacted]for the [redacted] & the purchase of the [redacted]. Thank you,[redacted]
