I made an advance reservation prior to a (driving) trip. During the trip I called for directions. The person was unable to provide even remotely correct directions. I tried to locate it via mapbook and talking to locals, both to no avail. I then called and left a voice mail that I was cancelling.
On my next CC statement was a charge for $30, a service (spending the night at the hostel) that I did not use and certainly no fault of mine
Refund Credit issued to my Visa card of $30
was given our location and instructions by our staff over the telephone but then called later to cancel. Our policies are clearly stated that we require at least 24 hour notice to cancel or a one night charge will be billed to the credit card on file.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
What I stated is exactly the way it was. The lady was unable to provide any sort of directions to the hostel. That is the only reason I did not go. The company is making a downright and unethical lie
