Let me start off my saying BUYER BEWARE! Unless of course you want to end up with a crappy product and end up in courtTo give you a sneak peek of my outcome, I WON my court case against Santa Monica Pictures and Buckeye Wedding VideoAs a note, the following is my own experience so take it as you mayI employed MrJeffery B(who is the owner of Santa Monica Pictures and Buckeye Wedding Video) to film my wedding on the 23rd of May and have now had to take the time to take Santa Monica Pictures and Buckeye Wedding Video to small claims court for breach of contract and have WON my caseIf you sign a contract with Santa Monica Pictures or Buckeye Wedding Video, you should know the following about my experienceFirst, I spoke personally with MrBa few months before my wedding, before my wedding he was very responsive, and responded to all my phone calls and emails in order to ensure that our contract was signed and a check was mailedBecause of this customer service, I proceeded to buy the “Florence” Wedding PackageNow skip ahead to my actual weddingFirst, MrBwas late to my event, I spotted him at my wedding venue only a half hour before my ceremony was scheduled to start rather than a full hour (as was contracted and verbally agreed upon)When I spotted him I immediately noticed his choice of attire because he decided to show up to my formal attire wedding wearing black pants with a casual polo, and the second videographer that accompanied him showed up in jeans and a Hawaiian shirt, even though I provided him with the dress code prior to my weddingThough I thought it was odd, I was more concerned with my new husband and family on my wedding day so I did not say anythingI provided both videographers with a meal and enjoyed my dayNext, skip ahead to over a month later when I finally received a copy of my wedding videoLike a kid on Christmas morning I eagerly viewed the DVD “rough draft” copy of my wedding and that’s when it went downhillMy wedding video had almost no sound (when looking at the video on a computer I can see that there is no sound attached to the video, so all sound was provided by the video camera’s microphones themselves, rather than the wireless microphone that I was told by MrBwould pick up my husband, myself, and our pastor, as well as anyone next to us), not to mention the lip movement in the video does not match up with the sound at all, throughout my ENTIRE ceremonyNext, my husband and I noticed there were choppy edits between movements, for example the pre-wedding music and screen shots are oddly cut off so that the movie can skip ahead to the processional portion of my wedding, there is no clean transition which differs greatly from what the demo videos Santa Monica and Buckeye Wedding Video suggestsThen, I emailed MrBto provide him with the edits that I required fixed, while also requesting that a song be added in completely rather than cut off after a few seconds because that important song was cut out even though my brother worked incredibly hard when he learned how to play the song for my weddingNext, skip to the reception, and I’m missing important events like the bouquet toss, the garter toss, several hours of the reception footage, and to top it off the last minutes is a video loop of the same people dancing (I know because it is not only the same song, but also the same “killer” dance moves that I had laughed at when I watched the first few minutes of the loop)Since MrBhad admitted to me in an email that the copy I had received was just a rough draft, I was disappointed, but quickly emailed back what I wanted him to editHe had already agreed to edits in our contract, but also agreed to do them in his email to me when he responded to my edit requestSo once I told him my edits, I expected to receive a new copy of my wedding video a week or two later, but this of course never happenedI tried MULTIPLE times to contact and speak with of Santa Monica Pictures and Buckeye Wedding Video and did so through not only emailing MrBbut also through the use of phone callsI received two excuses, which were “this is my busy season” and “I’m on vacation” but in the end he cut communication, wouldn’t respond to any of my emails or phone calls, and proceeded to completely drop off the face of the earthIt was in August (about two months after my wedding), when I threatened him with a lawsuit, attempting to get a response out of him that would lead to an acceptable copy of my wedding video, but he never respondedWell, five months and days after my wedding, I received my court date and proceeded to take my case against Santa Monica Pictures and Buckeye Wedding Video Pictures, and have WON my caseNow it will be the trouble of collecting my money and all of my court fees, and I have no wedding video to speak of, besides a piece of crap that is not worth anything
