On June 23, 2015 we moved [redacted] onsite at Westminster from the 2nd floor to the 4th floor. The men that were on this particular job were regular employees that have been employed with our company for many years. The high school student that was on the job was summer help and was a friend...

of the family. We perform background checks on all of our employees when we hire them. During this particular move, the owener’s son was not on the job. Seems this was an onsite move, the men on the job used pads, dollies, and padded carts to move from the different floors. The men wrapped the large items with pads as they were being moved. The box in question that is being claimed as missing, the man that moved that box said he put the box on a 4 wheel dolly and wheeled onto the elevator and then off the elevator on the 4th floor. He placed the box in the apt by the bathroom and the closet. The daughter and the customer were unpacking the boxes as the men moved the items. Our company feels 100% that the box in question was unpacked and placed on the bookshelf. When one of our men went back to check for the box, he noticed several Daniel Steele books in the bookcase. The daughter also packed boxes and took them to her house and placed them in the garage. Our company feels that if the books are not in the mother’s apartment, then they must have been taken to the daughter’s house by mistake. There is no reason for a high school student to take a box of Daniel Steele books. We apologize if the customer is unhappy but we feel as if the books in question are in her possession or at her daughter’s house. The customer signed the bill that everything was received in good order so our company feels that we do not owe her a refund. We have discussed this with the men on the job and there were several members of the family unpacking boxes as the items were being brought into the apartment. There were no boxes on the truck at any time because this was an onsite move. The customer and her family did all the packing for this job. Our men did no packing at all for this particular job. Everything was signed and the bill paid in full at the time of the move. We feel that a family member unpacked the box and placed the books on the bookshelf and the customer just doesn’t remember it. The daughter also claimed that she witnessed the young man moving the box in question from the second floor, but claims it never arrived to the 4th floor. If she claims she witnessed him moving it, why didn’t she ask him about it at that time? The customer had no complaints at the time of signing the bill of lading and providing final payment. Our company also gave the customer a 5% discount off of her total move. The customer also gave the men a tip for the move. We feel that the daughter is trying to get a free move because she is asking for the entire amount of the move. Regardless the move took place and our men were paid and we feel as if our company did no wrong doing. In conclusion we feel that this matter is resolved. Sincerely, Sappington and Son’s Moving, Inc.

Regards,
[redacted] ([redacted]) [redacted] 1) we asked the movers on the day of the move - as previously written - about the missing box and they returned at the end of the day - apologetic - and stated that they had insurance if necessary...their statement not ours..   we also waited about a week  - and went thru everything and never found the boxor the contents.  that's when the sarcasm started on a return with wrong accusations. 2) the young person who moved the box of missing books - I saw put on the 4 wheel cart while struggling... I never accused him of stealing the booksbut the box never was found at the apartment..  I also resent the accusation that I took the box of books home... it was too heavy - and was never unloadedit was missing as stated earlier.  we never found it.
