Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
Per Choice Home Warranty, CB Smith was not authorized to complete any repair work until they received approval from Choice My warranty does cover shower "valves" (Choice Plumbing Coverage attached...see items highlighted in bold) Per Choice, CB Smith was supposed to call and inform them it was a cartridge and not a valve At this point, Choice would have told CB Smith the repair was not covered...I would then have the opportunity to get a quote from CB Smith and approve them to complete the repair Due to their mistake, I did not have the opportunity to accept or decline CB Smith's quote to make the repair This is why Choice told me I was not obligated to pay CB Smith Verbiage from the coverage is attached in separate file

CB Smith was acting as an agent for Choice Home Warranty The two companies had a business agreement...I'd assume a contract stating responsibilities of each If you do some checking, I am sure you will find CB Smith did not adhere to their agreement with Choice Home Warranty and is now trying to recoup their perceived losses from me My agreement was/is with Choice Home Warranty, not CB Smith Choice Home Warranty is who I called and agreed to pay $Additionally, please inquire if it is CB Smith's common practice to advise their customers how much a repair cost before or after completion I was not given a chance to accept or decline their offer for service What if the price had been $1,000? Choice Home Warranty instructed me not to pay CB Smith so CB Smith should resolve the matter with them Request you contact them directly and withdraw the collection action against me

We were dispatched to the customers home by Choice Home WarrantyHis shower was steady dripping, we did not ask if he wanted the shower repaired because that was the primary reason for being on siteWe repaired the shower, collected the $service fee and left the homeWhen I called Choice
Home Warranty, they informed me that the customer did not have "faucet coverage"I then billed the customer and he responded stating that he was not going to pay because I should not have made the repair without authorizationI did what I thought was the correct thing to do which is rectify the problem we were sent out to repair The customer was rude and condescending when I called him about the past due paymentI then asked about returning to get the parts we installed and he said no, the shower was repaired and in good working condition due to my company's labor and materials, so I billed the homeowner for services rendered

The money has not been received but I was told it would arrive within weeksI have notified the collection agency

I do not get involved with the coverage provided by the homeowners Home Warranty company as there are several levels of coverage depending on the cost of the warrantyI respond to the work orders sent to my companyI responded to this work order and repaired his shower faucetIf he does not want to pay what the "warranty company" does not cover, perhaps he should contact them for reimbursement

As you can see from the outcome, I was unfairly put into a dispute between two companies that had a legal contract One company (CB Smith) did not live up to their end of the deal and instead of working it out with Choice Home Warranty, they chose to "squeeze" me, the customer I never authorized a repair and neither did Choice In ALL other instances with Choice, their service providers diagnosed the problem, contacted Choice to see if it was covered and then made the repair There have been cases where repairs were not covered under the warranty, the service provider communicated this to me, collected the $fee and left Please (Revdex.com) do something to keep customers from being extorted through fear of a collection agency ruining their credit unjustly Although I am happy this will be over for me soon, there is still a problem that needs addressing
