I have dealt with Home Locator's "Tampa since moving into one of their managed properties in December 2015. There were a few minor issues that were taken care of in a timely manner. Dealing with the Maintenance manager Phil, has been a great experience. He has taken the time to call and let me know who was calling and/or coming to repair what needed repairing.
Now to two major issues. When you rent from a company that manages property for others, in many cases that is exactly what the term means: they are managing it for the property owner. Some owners give the property managers the freedom to fix/repair issues as needed without having to consult the owner first. Other owners want to be consulted first and they will make the decision as to what they will agree to fix and can sometimes be very "picky" about what to repair and the amount; choosing not to repair if they can get "around" what is "what" in the lease contract.
I had two major issues. In summary, Phil was very very helpful and persevered with the owners in demonstrating the necessity in making these repairs regarding the short and long term ramifications.
Phil was always gracious and concerning with a pleasant and professional attitude when dealing with me and my minor and major maintenance issues. It may have taken him a while because his hands were temporarily "tied"; however I never felt like I was given the run around. I thank him for his assistance and all those that work for Home Locators for their assistance and helpfulness. The issues were resolved for that I am grateful and thankful... however I am more appreciative of the professionalism and attitude of Phil and everyone who has worked with him and me to resolve the issues.
Plain and simple an unfair company with poor business practices! They managed to keep more than half of our security deposit because of things "they" perceived as infractions. (Complaint forthcoming) No discussion, no negotiations, just deductions! They never made repairs that they were supposed to. They are a poor choice of company to deal with,you could do much better.
