My husband and I reserved a two night stay in the overflow area of campground. We were told that electric service was available, but no water. They advertised a swimming pool and pickleball courts, which we both enjoy. We arrived on Jan 18th, 2020 before the office closed. We were not offered a fob to allow us access to the pool or pickleball court. The office closed at 5 or 6 and did not open until two days later, on Monday. Our electric service continued to blow the electric breaker anytime we used our A/C. We just have 30 amp service. We called and left a message at the emergency number posted, but received no response at all. We attempted to go swimming and play pickleball, but could not get access because they did not supply us a fob. So the only service they offered that we were able to use was electricity, which continued to blow the breaker. We called friends , who picked us up .When they dropped us off, our class C RV was blocked by vehicles because there was a dance going on in the clubhouse! We could not have gone anywhere if we tried. We calmly brought everything to the attention of an employee in the office on monday, and she said she would relay our concerns to management and we would hear something in a few days. After a week, and no contact, we called the office. She said they would be sending a check for a 25% refund to our home. That was over two weeks ago and still no refund!

Desired Outcome

Refund Refund as promised, even though a 25% refund is meager for the service we received.

We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced on your visit. This year the park instituted weekend support from 9am to 2pm which is new to the park. If you had visited the office in the morning, the staff could have assisted you with both the service issues and activation of fob. On January 20th your complaint was filed at the main office. On January 21, that complaint was forwarded to the Board for review. On January 28th the Board conducted a meeting and made the decision to compensate you a 25% refund for the issues you experienced. On February 6th, check *** was mailed to you, *** to the KY address you provided. It is my understanding that since filing this complaint, we have received confirmation that you have received your check. Again, our apology for your experience. The issues you addressed were corrected by our maintenance team upon receiving the work orders. When you visit next, please remember that the staff at Sara Bay are available from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday. During the week both Sara Bay and Paradise Bay offices are open from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. and both can assist you on issues that may arise during your stay. We look forward to your next visit

Just want to clarify several issues. My husband, John, actually sent the letter to the Revdex.com, but made it sound like it was me. I did actually go to the open office on Sunday morning at 9 and spoke with Alicia. She said that she did not have access to the fobs and could not reach the maintenance people until Monday. She had received my phone message from Saturday, but not until Sunday morning.
Also, the response states that they sent a check on February 6th but the postmark is February 13th. I attached a copy of that envelope to the email that I sent to Debbie after she called to verify that we had received the 25% refund. It arrived in our mailbox on February 18th. I have informed delivery from the USPS, so that I know when something arrives.
Hope this clears up any confusion and further explains our frustration. Maybe if the board realized that I did actually go to the office as soon as it opened on Sunday with no assistance on either issue, they would have known why we felt that the 25% refund was inadequate. We thought that a 50% refund would have been acceptable.
