Sarasota Toyota Reviews (%countItem)

We received an "urgent safety recall" notice and have been trying for over two years to schedule a repair to our Tacoma truck with Toyota of Sarasota. The warning states that the rear suspension may fracture resulting in damage to surrounding components or the fuel tank -- very worrisome. We've called multiple times for OVER TWO YEARS and have been told numerous times that the part is on order and that we'd receive a call when the part came in. Never happened. At one point, we even called the service mgr. directly who told us to drop the truck off, which we did using the overnight key drop. The next day we received a call telling us to pick the truck up because they didn't have the part. Unbelievable! This past Monday we tried one final time to schedule the repair with Toyota of Sarasota. The receptionist told us that their "computers were down" but that she would personally walk back to the repair shop after our call and that someone would call us back right away. As is typical practice for Toyota of Sarasota and reflects a complete disregard for customer service, we never received a call.

So... we'll try a different dealership to schedule this repair -- which will be inconvenient and a huge waste of time. We've posted negative reviews of Toyota of Sarasota on social media - including Yelp and Nextdoor in the hopes that others are not subjected to Toyota of Sarasota's lack of customer service and an their unwillingness to stand behind the vehicles that they sell.

It's extremely disappointing and totally illogical that this dealership has an A+ Revdex.com rating. Clearly negative reviews are unimportant in the Revdex.com's rating system. Toyota of Sarasota earns zero stars based on our experiences, however the Revdex.com customer review system will not let me do that, so it'll have to be one star -- begrudgingly.

I brought my used Toyota in to the service center for an air bag recall and the customer service clerk, mechanics, mechanic supervisor, and warehouse clerk all connived together to attempt to charge me over $600.00 for repairs which I did not need on my vehicle. I had the vehicle seen by personal mechanic that told me nothing was wrong with the vehicle and no parts were needed for repair on the vehicle. When I came in to pick up my vehicle. The Customer Service clerk showed me a fake youtube video on his iphone of the brakes on my vehicle at the front desk saying it needed to be repaired and needed new parts. Then he took me into the garage to speak with a female mechanic that showed me the same fake you tube video of brakes on my vehicle telling me it needed new parts and repaired. The customer service clerk and mechanic at this place lied directly to my face about repairs and parts which I did not need. Next the customer service clerk gave the mechanic supervisor a thumbs up and the mechanic supervisor smirked at me. Then the customer service clerk took me to the parts warehouse clerk's area. He told him to order the parts as if they already pre-planned it. The Customer Service Clerk and Warehouse Clerk laughed in my face afterwards. Next the customer service clerk took me to the front desk and did not even ring up an official receipt but wrote on the back of the airbag recall receipt that I owed them over $650.00 for the repairs that were needed. Then he asked me to sign it. I walked out, then I walked back in asking the customer service clerk for my keys and drove the vehicle off the lot. The vehicle had no problems at all. The brakes were fine. The vehicle ran fine. My personal mechanic looked at it and confirmed that they lied. Stay away from this dishonest place!!

Mr.

Thank you for your comments and concerns. I pulled the multi point inspection sheet that Toyota has us go over with every customer and the tech noted the left front brake caliper was missing a bolt and according to the guideline's Toyota sets for repairs it was recommended you need replacement rotors with brake pads. We also gave you a estimate to repair the causes of the warning lights that are on in your dash board. You did sign declining the recommended repairs and we did not charge you for the inspection. Thank you again for your visit.

So if the vehicle needed repair why did the customer service clerk call me on my phone and left message saying everything was fine on the vehicle and it was ready for me pick up the day prior? Usually if costs and repairs are needed they tell you when they call you right? When I came in I just expected to pick up the vehicle nothing more. Additionally why wasn't an official receipt rung up through the systems of accountability if the repairs were needed. Why did they want to go around the official systems and processes in place that your organization posses to ensure integrity?

The only light turned on the vehicle dashboard was warning light for air needed in the tire. There was no other warning lights lit on my dashboard.

By the way no one told me anything about any estimate to repair the causes of the warning lights that are on my vehicle dash board. This is the first time I am hearing about it.

I brought a used Cadillac CTS from Andre and it seemed like a good deal. There was no owners manual he said they would get one and send it to me. I have called many times and he always says he will get back to me. He has never called back. I do not trust this dealership.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have contacted my parts department to inquire about an owners manual for your 2011 CTS. I will be in contact with you when I have a resolution. Thanks, Nick W., General Manager, Peterson Toyota of Sarasota. Cell #

The Owner's Manual was ordered, but on back order from Cadillac. It has since arrived. I have emailed Mr. with that information. Thank you...Nick W.

I have not received it yet. They have contacted me and said it will be sent.

Terrible service, shady sales, stay away. Peterson Toyota of Sarasota sold me a Tacoma with a leaky tire. I made multiple trips to service, several calls to sales, left messages with managers and never received a return call. At first they would not admit to the problem, then they acknowledged the issue but would not fix it correctly. They expect me to accept one mismatched tire on a newly purchased vehicle that was sold with four matching good tires. Seriously? Who would think that is acceptable? Stay away from this dealership.
