Sassy Salon Reviews (1)

Review: I went to bleach my hair and hated it. They refused to refund any of my money.

I went in twice and spent almost $500 all together for both services. I was promised a dirty blonde color and came out about 6 different colors of orange. I was doing this for prom and expected much better for that price. They've refused to refund any of my money and offered to do a complimentary service. I never want to go back there again, I'd just like some consolation for my unhappiness.Desired Settlement: I'd like all my money back, but partial is fine as I did agree to the services, just not the final product.

Business

Response:

Business' Initial Response

Im [redacted], owner of Sassy Salon. Client [redacted] had her first service on March 5 with one of our stylist. Client came in with long dark hair and wanted to be a blonde. Stylist, spoke to client that we are here to always protect the integrity of our clients hair first therefore achieving whole head blonde would and could result in breakage. Therefore stylist advise client to do these services in different visits to slowly achieve the goal of blonde ( stages goes from [redacted], cooper, golds, then blonde platinum). First visit was to bleach & tone ($80 per hr; total $160) and cut ($55); stylist advise of total before her services). Client left first visit clear of understanding that its light as can be for first visit ( golden/beige tones). Client was happy with the result and even made second appt to get lighter. On March 26, client came in for full weave (stylist told her price and she agreed; $175). Client left even happier because now it's blonder. When client called to dispute & request for refund; it was weeks passed and stated that she colored her hair dark herself. I expressed that if she didn't like anything we did (both visits), our goal would be to assist her through it and have customer satisfaction but since she's taken in her own hands to destroy the "lightening" process and colored her own hair back dark; that's not our decision, was her own. When I spoke to client she said she understood that it was her fault but she feels she deserves refund now because she's spent so much monies(but each service we provided was agreed & understood before service performed). I didnt have to offer her anything but I felt that with her indecisive hair coloring changes, her hair would benefit for healthy complimentary "hair treatment". We want to always make our clients happy but our services are not for "rent".

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

When I went in, I showed [redacted] a picture of the color I wanted to get closer to (which was a dirty blonde). She turned my roots platinum blonde and the rest of my hair orange. When I first left, I was willing to see if it would grow on me as I'm not usually one to complain. As time went on it faded more and more. I had no choice but to dye it as when I really started hating it, I was 2 days away from prom. I'm not going to walk into prom with orange hair when I went in with the understanding that I would be blonde. And $400 I was not. The stylist never told me to come back, so to me that seems like she thought she was done and she was going to let me go to prom orange.
