Sassy's Nail Spa Reviews (3)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This letter is in response to Sassy’s Nail Spa’s response (2/14/18) to my complaint (1/24/18)I reject MsD***’s response (no offer) and object to her accusations regarding my honestyHer response is inaccurate, accusatory, and evidences a complete lack of concern for customer careFirst, MsD [redacted] claims to know how Lee removed my gel polishShe incorrectly described Lee’s practiceLee did not let my natural nails soak for “7-minutes.” After no more than minutes, Lee resorted to his electric toolsBecause he did not soak my nails for a long enough period of time, none of the gel polish pulled away easily, as it shouldInstead, he reached for his electric fileIn fact, the first tool was not powerful enough, and he went to another station to find a stronger electric fileThe electric file that he used was white with deep groovesAdditionally, Lee was not merely “buffing off the residue,” but he was scraping the entire gel coating off of my nailsAs I saw white flakes being scraped off, I asked him if they were pieces of my nailHe did not respondSeveral times, he apologized for grinding my free edges and nail wallsFor a nail technician with years experience, Lee’s skills are sorely lackingSecond, MsD [redacted] insults my integrityShe accuses me of misrepresentationIn my complaint, I indicated that I removed the gel, applied by Lee, with acetone and an orange stickI was merely referring to the correct method of removalAs I explained to MsD [redacted] when I returned to her business, I went to another nail salon for the removalNot being an expert in nail care and with extremely sore nails, I did not want to attempt the removal myself nor did I want MsD***’s employees to touch my nails againIt was then that I was informed that using an electric file to remove gel is improperIn fact, I was told that some nail technicians remove gel in this way if they are hurried and/or want to get to the next paying customerI researched nail care and gel removal and this is what I discoveredAccording to the American Academy of Dermatology, “attempting to remove polish by physical means like scraping or chipping can cause damage.” Also, according to OPI chief scientist [redacted] , “the most common reason why nail plates are injured during a soak-off gel removal is because nail technicians do not let the product soak long enough to fully break the bond to the natural nail.” When they use forceful means to remove the polish, “they take part of the natural nail plate off with the gel.” MsD [redacted] also attacks my credibility when she calls my injury “questionable” and proposes alternate hypotheses for my nail damageThe facts remain that: the day that Lee improperly removed gel from my nails, my nails began to hurt (1/11/18), I returned and spoke to MsD [redacted] about my injury/pain the day after Lee improperly removed gel from my nails (1/12/18), I returned and spoke to Ms*** after removing the gel that Lee applied to show her the physical damage to my nails (1/23/18)I am attaching photos of my nails, showing the damage caused by Lee’s improper removal of gelThe first photo (taken on 1/23/18) was taken immediately after removal of the polish that Lee appliedThe physical damage is evidentIn the second photo (taken on 2/15/18), the thickness of my nail plate can be seenWhere my nail plate has grown out, there is no redness from the underlying nail bedWhere Lee damaged my nail plate by scraping and gouging with the electric file, the underlying redness can be seenTo say, as MsD [redacted] does, that “Lee did not hurt or cause any cuts on [my] nails” is falseTo say, as MsD [redacted] does, that Lee did not “scraped (sic) [my] nails” is falseTo say, as MsDang does, that Lee “just buffed them” is falseTo say, as MsD [redacted] does, that the damage was done prior to Lee’s service is as the timeline suggestsTo say, as MsD [redacted] does, that I caused damage by “opening something” is and not supported by the damage to all nail platesTo say, as MsD [redacted] does, that I caused damage when “the weather is freezing outside” is and not supported by the damage to all nail platesTo say, as MsD [redacted] does, that the “other nail technician at [the] other salon damaged them” is and not supported by the timelineTo say, as MsD [redacted] does, that “there could be more and more reasons for this” is falseMsD [redacted] refuses to take responsibility for damage and injury caused by one of her techniciansThird, I am not seeking any profit other than to be reimbursed for a service improperly performed at MsD***’s businessMsD [redacted] has directed me to seek medical treatmentMy nails are damaged and sore, but no medical treatment will restore the thickness of my nail platesThe damage will only be repaired when the nails grow A visit to a medical doctor would only result in additional expenseA medical doctor cannot place blameAs I asked MsD***, in person and through my complaint, I am seeking my money back for the service improperly performedMsD [redacted] claims that her “policy is no refund for services.” MsD [redacted] ignored policy when she offered me half of my money back on 1/23/I told her that I wanted all of my money back or that I would file a complaint with Revdex.comShe refusedIn conclusion, no amount of money will “fix my nails” or ease my painI filed my complaint seeking, more than anything, accountability for causing harmMsD [redacted] can do the right thing by apologizing and refunding my money Regards, [redacted]

To Revdex.comRe : Complaint ID :*** ***We, Sassy's Nail Spa, have been in business for over yearsWe have served more than clients per day, days per week and days per year (our salon only closed for business on New Year Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
due to our location is inside a shopping mall)Our technicians are licensed and skilled with at least years experience to perform services on clients using hand tools and electric tools. With this case, the client came with Gel polish on her natural nails, and nail technician Lee performed removal by soaking her old gel polish off for 7-minutes to dissolve the Gel then buffed off the residue (using an electric buffer) as a preparation step for applying the new GelLee has been a Nail Technician for 20years and he knows proper steps to perform this serviceCustomer came back next day to complain about the painLee did not hurt or caused any cuts on customer's nails or skinHow is he responsible for her pain? So he recommended her to take Tylenol (this is very bad practice because he is not a medical doctor). So customer came back again on 1/23/and requested to talk to ownerI, Lynn D*** came in to hear her story*** told me the whole story as she reported to you Revdex.com except that "I went somewhere else to have the Gel removed and have learned that one should not remove Gel with an electronic file"Well I saw one small bruise on the tip of one of her index fingerThat may be the cause of the pain and how the bruise got there is questionableBut There are always sides to every story, so I called Lee up to hear his story and he told me" he just performed procedure as he did for many of his customers and he did not cut, did not bleed or scraped her nailsHe just buffed them".My conclusion is there is no proof that Lee caused the pain on the customer nails because she came with Gel already on her nailsWhat if the damage was done when she got her nails done before she came to LeeWhat if she used her finger nails opening something and damage them but could not see because her nails are covered with GelWhat if she damaged them herself somehow when the weather is freezing outside and she could not feel the pain at that time but only a day or 2days laterWhat if other nail technician at other salon damaged them while removing the Gel that Lee put on her (she told me she went somewhere else to have them remove the Gel* Lee put on her)What if she damaged them while remove them herself (as She wrote in her complaint) There could be more and more reasons for this so I recommended her to seek medical treatment if she feels pain and if the doctor says it is Lee who damaged her nails, bring me the medical bill and l will submit it to my insurance company and they will take care of it using our liability insurance for businessHowever, the customer suggested that she wanted her money back for the service and only WANTED THE MONEY BACK.Our policy is no refund for servicesIf customers are not happy about our services, or if services are not done properly, we will redo them until customer is satisfiedIf customers are hurt, our insurance company will take care of them.I am sorry that we can not refund her money for the service due to her different stories about how her gel was removed after Lee did them and how she wanted it refunded but not to seek medical treatment.RegardsLynn D***Manager and Owner
