Saunders Auto Repair Reviews (%countItem)

I own a 2005 Dodge stratus with a 5 speed manual transmission. About 10 days ago, my car had an electrical problem that prevented the car from starting, so I had the car towed to Saunders Auto repair at *** highway in Moultrie,GA to be repaired. They kept the car for 7 days. Everytime I. Called to check on the status of my car, they would say they were busy and would call me back in a few minutes, But they would never call me back. This happened on several occasions. When the car was finally ready for me to pick it up, he said there was no charge. At first, I thought it was a courtesy for the inconvenience of them keeping my car for so long which I thought was strange because I know mechanics dont work for free.as I was driving away from the Auto shop, it suddenly became very apparent why he didn't charge me. The was not fixed and he knew it wasn't fixed, But let me pick it up anyway. While driving home the engine started choking down, nearly shutting off, which was very dangerous because I was in a lot of traffic. I have owned this car for 7 years and have never had any major problems like I did when I picked it up from the shop. The car was not doing this when I. Took it to the shop. The car was actually in much worse condition when I picked it up. When I took the car back to the shop to complain about it. He said it would cost me $235 for him to work on it. I told him I was not about to pay for damage that was not my fault and that occurred while the car was in their possession. The car was not malfunctioning like that when I dropped it off. Now I'm going to have to take my car to another mechan to hopefully fix the car. My fiancé and I are both disabled and really depend on this car to get us to out of town Doctors appointments and to the grocery store. When I asked the manager for a list of all the work that was done on the car, he very rudely refused. Thanks so much for listening to me !!!
Sincerely

Desired Outcome

Repair I would like them to fix the damage that was done to the car while it was in their possession without charging for it. Letting me drive the car off the lot in the condition it was in was very dangerous and very careless of him. I could have got hurt or worse, it could have caused someone else to get hurt. I would like to see this company be held accountable for their negligence and carelessness. Thank you !!!

Customer's vehicle was towed in.....this in it self...says the car was broke! Once we checked to vehicle. Needed battery, starter was on last leg...needing replacement. Cooling fan relay was pulled out of place in under-hood fuse box. These are signs of someone working under hood before being towed. Car had electrical problems with throttle position sensor, barometer sensor, and possible wiring. Mass air flow sensor had a poor connection. Connector end was not fully seated. Engine would only run....if it was left unplugged. The issue with the three sensors mentioned, causes suspicion of wiring short! Needing expensive diagnostic time. ///Customer could not afford a battery or starter. Therefore as a good Samaritan gesture we charged his battery, replaced negative battery cable end...put cooling fan relay in its proper place(it was causing car's engine to overheat). It would start and engine would run. Someone went and picked him up from his place of residence and we did not charge him one red cent. I have never had a Revdex.com complaint on any repairs in 34 years working in the automotive repair industry. Also for someone to complain about a business that tried to help them out? Really? I worked for area Ford dealers for around 20 years, and have been in present location for over 7 years. Ford Motor Corp. recognized me in 2001 New York Times for accomplishments and credentials. I would advise the customer to go trade his thirteen year( old cream puff) vehicle with a new or used car dealer...if he can not afford to pay for repairs. I will be happy to see customer at local small claims court if he so chooses. I will respectfully refuse him service in the future, and is not welcome at my business location.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have read the response to my complaint with Saunders auto repair. The only true statement that he made was that they did teplace the negative battery cable. I will give them that,But I have owned this car for 7 years and have never had trouble with the battery, starter and the car has never ovetheated as long as I have owned the car. This person also stated that he was trying to help me. This person let me drive a car that was unsafe to drivr. If that's his idea of helping me, I shutter to think of what tragedy that could have occurred if he wasn't helping me. When he sent one of his employees to pick mr up, I asked this gentleman if my car was fixed and his response was " well it's sort of fixed " That statement aalonr should have sent up a ted flag. There is no such thing as a car being sort of fixed. It's either fixed or not fixed and my car was clearly not fixed. And just the of him calling my car a " 13 year old cream puff " demonstrates the type of unprofessional and downright childish individual that I am dealing.dealin wwith. It was very unnecessary for him to state that "I'm not welcome at his business " after the way I wad treated I would not even ccontemplate ddarkening the door of this business. If I have anymore problems with my car, I would not even consider taking my car to Saunders. I would take it to a mechanic instead. I have worked in the medical field as a Respiratory Therapist for over 25 years and during that time I have always treated my patients, their families and my coworkers with kindness and respect. If a situation ever did come up, it was handled in a respectful and professional mannerand certainly not using terms such ad "Creampuff. This individual could really benefit by learning some people skills
