During the presentation we attended in [redacted] , SC, we made it a point to verify the things stated in the sales presentation that were important to us: go anywhere anytime we want, any time we want, handicap accessible and week costing no more than $(many specials lower than that) We wanted to make certain of this First, was priceThey assured us we would never have to pay more than $for the only five locations we had expressed interest in and wheelchair accessibility would always be availableThe sales couple disappeared as it was closing time so we never got to verify these same concerns with the closing agentThe stated someone would be calling us about adding our children and that did not happenSomeone by the name of Ed called and said we could add childrenAfter a short discussion on that, he hung up on usSo, we never contacted to add our childrenThe places they referred to in Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach that were in our price range were not wheelchair accessibleIn fact, in at least one case not even an elevatorYet, they assured us this would not be a problem for usRegarding the five locations we were interested in, they again verified one of the features of the program that had been highlighted in the presentation was we could go anywhere we wanted, any time we wanted Regarding two of our locations, Lake George, NY and StAugustine, FL, we found nothing on the website The 3rd location Jupiter, FL, they could not even locate anything to months out yet our family did After being disappointed with other travel related programs we had seen before, and turned down, we felt this was a reputable company that would deliver on its promisesUnfortunately, that has proven to not be the caseWe tried to use it as it was presented in the sales presentation and since it did not meet those requirements we request our refundThank youPLease advise [redacted] ***

Grand Discovery has qualification requirements for attending a sales presentation and for receiving the promotional incentivesOne of the requirements is that any two people who attend a sales presentation as a “couple”, whether married or unmarried, present identification which validates they reside in the same householdWe have no guest registration which shows Mr [redacted] attending a sales presentation in our office, which is one of the requirements for receiving the promotional incentiveBased upon Mr [redacted] description in this complaint, we are confident he did present to our office, and was, according to our company policy told that he and his wife must have matching addresses in order to attend the presentation as a coupleThe managers and staff of our company upheld the company policy in this caseHowever, we are willing to make an exception to this policy based upon Mr [redacted] account of and explanation in this complaintOur company is willing to mail him the promotional incentives he would have received if he had attended the sales presentationThe promotional incentives are an Android Touch-pad Tablet Computer and up to a $Wal-Mart gift cardWith regard to the Wal-Mart gift card; the amount each person receives is based upon choosing a number between and to reveal the increment of gift card they are to receive at the conclusion of the sales presentationThe minimum amount is $and the maximum amount of $ Since Mr [redacted] did not attend the sales presentation, and did not choose a gift card, he is not eligible to receive a gift cardHowever, we will mail Mr [redacted] the tablet

There letter stated nothing about having to join to receive the tabletAlso stated that there was age age and income restestions, but did not state that there were any other conditions or restrictionsThey also said that I did qualify to receive the tabletI just had to pay for the membership, and processing and handling

Mrand Mrs.*** attended a sales presentation in our place of business in South Carolina in *** on April 23, and made the decision to purchaseBefore they completed the purchase, they were taken into a private office
away from the sales area to complete, review, initial and sign the legal and binding documentsThey signed their understanding and agreement with the Understanding of the Company No Cancellation Policy which states, "“We further understand that because our purchase was completed and all documents signed in the place of business for Grand Discovery Consultants, LLC in South Carolina, our membership is non refundable and is not subject to cancellation.” The Merchant Copy authorizing the charge states, “NO REFUNDS” and “NO CANCELLATIONS”. Our company has a no cancellation and no refund policyThis was disclosed to Mrand Mrs.*** before they completed their purchaseThey remain members and are encouraged to contact the customer relations center toll free at 1-*** to request service using the membership

Mr.*** has never attended a sales presentation in our officeOur company has a contract with an independent marketing company that uses direct mail and offers a tablet for attending a sales presentation in our officeAs mail piece Mr. *** received states, "Call for details" "Certain
restrictions apply." Mr. *** should call the number listed on the mail pieceThe number Mr. *** should call is listed in the body of the mail which states, "call our awards center." At that time, Mr. *** will be given the details and the restrictions which apply over the phone

Mrand Mrs*** were contacted by an independent marketing company and offered a promotional incentive to attend a sales presentation in our officeThey attended a sales presentation in our office on
November 20,
Prior to attending the sales presentation, Mrand Mrs*** completed and signed the Guest Registration and signed their understanding of the following statement, “Guests are under no obligation to purchase the membership offered todayAll guests receive a gift package for their participation in the presentation, not for the purchase of a membership in Grand Resort Travel.”
At the conclusion of the sales presentation, Mrand Mrs*** made the decision to purchase the Grand Resort Travel membershipBefore completing their purchase, they were taken into a private office away from the sales area to complete, initial and sign the referenced here
Mr*** claims in this complaint that properties offered are run down; yet admits he has not used the membershipMr*** also claims he was told by his credit card company to contact the Revdex.com to receive a refund
Mr*** disputed this charge five times with his credit card companyEach time, we presented documentation and facts which proved the allegations Mr*** made in each of his disputes were falseHis credit card company upheld the charge FIVE timesMr*** made five different claims in order to receive a refund.
In his first dispute, Mr*** claimed his purchase was for “free airfare, hotel stay for days and car rental for daysAll star hotels not verifiable.” He also claimed he called to cancel within hours and was placed on holdOur company responded by providing proof that this purchase was for the Grand Resort Travel membership, a wholesale condominium vacation club membership, not for the promotional incentive; and we provided proof that Mrand Mrs*** agreed with and understood our company’s no cancellation policyThe charge was upheld by his credit card company
In his second dispute, Mr*** claimed he was dissatisfied with the quality of goods and services and provided one resort out of a listing of a resort that in his opinion demonstrated a quality of accommodations which are below his standardsOur company provided evidence that Mr*** had not used to the service and therefore could not determine the quality of accommodationsThe charge was upheld by his credit card company
In his third dispute, Mr*** claimed he cancelled his purchase on November 22, Our company provided evidence that Mrand Mrs*** understood and agreed to company no cancellation policy and agreed that he could not a cancel the membership
In his fourth dispute, Mr*** claimed that he has not received the service for this charge as agreed upon, and claimed he was guaranteed two specific resorts
In his fifth dispute, Mr*** has made the same claim as the fourth dispute without any additional information
Mr*** signed the Merchant Copy authorizing the charge which states, “NO REFUNDS” and “NO CANCELLATIONS”. Mrand Mrs*** signed their agreement with the “Understanding of the Company No Cancellation Policy.”
Mrand Mrs*** completed the Grand Resort Travel Membership Enrollment Form which is subtitled, “A Wholesale Condominium Vacation Club Membership” and signed the legal and binding purchase contract which states:
2. Purchase PriceSaid price is solely in consideration for joining the Membership and is not a payment for any particular goods or services
Mrand Mrs*** initialed and signed their agreement with and understanding of the Grand Resort Travel Acknowledgement and Description of Benefits and Services, which is subtitled “A Wholesale Condominium Vacation Club Membership”, including the following statements:
2. I purchased my Members for substantial discounts on weekly condominium rentals and not for any other benefit or service or as an investmentI understand Gran Resort Travel or Grand Discovery Consultants, LLC does not assist members in the resale of the Membership or purchase the membership backThe marketing gift was issued for participation in the presentation and not purchased as part of the membership
9. The sales materials represent examples of some of the condominium resorts available with my MembershipGrand Resort Travel works directly with a network of wholesale condominium agencies to ensure I receive the best available wholesale condominium in resort locationsCondominium Gold Week request are made b location, not by specific resortPet Friendly Condominium Gold Weeks and Hot Weeks have limited availabilityI will be given an opportunity to review resort amenities, location and resort ratings prior to booking my Condominium Gold Week or Condominium Hot Week
15. Grand Discovery Consultants sales representatives have made no verbal or written guarantees regarding availability or pricing for specific condominium resorts or any other travel arrangements
17. I agree this document is consistent with the verbal description of the benefits and services of the Grand Resort Travel Membership made by Grand Discovery Consultants sales representatives
Mrand Mrs*** agreed prior to attending the sales presentation that they were under no obligation to purchase the membership to receive the promotional incentive described their first dispute, as evidenced by their signature on the Guest RegistrationThey understood that their purchase was not for the marketing gift and was not for any particular goods or services, as evidence by their signature on the legal and binding purchase contract and that their purchase was for a substantial discounts on weekly condominium rentals and the marketing gift was issues for participation in the presentation and not purchased as part of the membership, as evidenced by their initials on the Acknowledgement and Description of Benefits
Mrand Mrs*** understood that they would be given the opportunity to review resort ratings prior to booking a Condominium Gold Week or a Condominium Hot Week as evidenced by their signature on the Acknowledgement and Description of Benefits and Services
Mrand Mrs*** understood that their purchase was not subject to cancellation as evidenced by their signature on the Understanding of the Company No Cancellation Policy; and Mr*** understood that there are “NO REFUNDS” and “NO CANCELLATIONS” as evidenced by his signature on the merchant copy authorizing the charge
It is unreasonable to believe that Mrand Mrs*** would have thought they were purchasing “free airfare and a hotel stay for days, car rental for days”; that they were promised “all star hotels which were not verifiable” ; that they “called within hours to cancel” and have signed and initialed their understating that they would receive the promotional incentive for participation not for purchasing, would have signed their understanding that the membership they purchased was “Wholesale Condominium Vacation Club Membership” for substantial discounts on weekly condominium rentals, and would have signed their understanding of the company no cancellation policy
Mrand Mrs*** have never called the customer relations center to make a request for condominium accommodations using the Grand Resort Travel membershipIn one of their disputes, Mrand Mrs*** provided a print out of a condominium using the online resort guide for Grand Resort TravelThis online resort guide contains thousands of resort descriptions and also has the following statement:
“This guide represents some of the resorts and geographic locations available with your membership, but it is not a complete listing of the resorts available on the Hot Weeks Listing or the resorts available for Condominium Gold Week requestsWhen you inquire about a Hot Week, or are provided options for your Condominium Gold Week request, customer relations will provide you with a link to resort descriptions.”
Mrand Mrs*** are not able to evaluate the services of Grand Resort Travel, nor are they able to evaluate the quality of the accommodations they have received because they have not attempted to use the membership by making a requestAs they understood they will be given the opportunity to review the resort ratings prior to booking a condominium gold week or condominium hot week; and as the website indicates under the resort guide, when Mrand Mrs*** do inquire about a Hot Week, or are provided options for a condominium gold week request, customer relations will provide them with a link to resort descriptions
Our company responded to five disputes with five different claims by Mr*** in which is contradicted earlier claims he had made in his disputesThe credit card company upheld the charge in all five cases.
Mrand Mrs*** signed their agreement with the Acknowledgement and Description of Benefits and Services, their agreement with the Understanding of the Company No Cancellation Policy, purchase contract and the merchant copy authorizing the charge which states, “NO REFUNDS” and “NO CANCELLATIONS”
Mrand Mrs*** remain members and should contact the Grand Resort Travel customer relations department toll free at 1-*** to receive service using the membership

Mrand Mrs*** understood PRIOR to attending the sales presentation that they were under no obligation to purchase the membership and that the marketing gift was for their participation in the presentation, not for the purchase of a membership in Grand Resort Travel as evidenced by their signature on the Guest Registration form

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
I have received the response and yes we did know that we were not purchasing a cruise. However, the agreement was that we would purchase the membership if the offer included the cruise that allowed our children to go rather than [redacted] physically handing us a new offer that excluded our children. If he had notified us before hand we would have had the opportunity to say "If our kids are excluded then we do not wish to purchase the membership"  and as such we would have done so but that was not the case. Also, I did not sign the documents afterwards only my husband but still under the information that we could take our kids. I think this is underhanded and I do not like how they do business.
They did replace the original offer but it is too little too late.
Also, I can send the documents however, my scanner is not working right now. I will be unavailable to respond to any complaints until after the 10/27 as I will be out of the country and unable to return emails. Please note this if there are responses to be made on my part, I am not neglecting them but will not be able to respond until after 10/27. Thank you for time and extension for response if needed. Also, I will send documents as soon as I return and my scanner is fixed.
Regards,
[redacted]

The customer did not purchase the cruise voucher; and understood both by their signature on the guest registration and purchase documents, and the response to this complaint , that the purchase was not for the cruise voucher, but that it was provided for attending the sales presentation. A marketing representative spoke with this customer and has agreed to send a replacement cruise voucher to the customer by mail. This customer purchased a Wholesale Condominium Vacation Club Membership, not a cruise. The customer is member in good standing with Grand Resort Travel and is encouraged to contact the customer relations center toll free at 1-[redacted] to make requests using the membership as it was disclosed in writing at the time of their purchase.
