When my new car was damaged in a hit and run accident our insurance company recommended Saunders as one of their guaranteed shops. I stopped by during the date and time requested by Saunders to have an quote prepared for my insurance company, this took only about 10 minutes, during which time the gentleman took photos of the damage and odometer of my car. He was wearing dirty overalls when he got in my car and as he got out he left a stain on the drivers door post. He then went back into the shop and I scheduled with the front desk staff to have my car repaired and as I was waiting apparently another customer had had a complaint about the work done as he was cussing very loudly that if they didn't like it they could "[redacted] pick up that [redacted] Santa Fe and take it elsewhere". This should have been my first clue that they weren't the best place for my car but my insurance company only has two local body shops that they guarantee the work for so I proceeded with the repairs. The day I dropped off my car I was greeted by the front desk staff and picked up by the rental car agency and was told my car would be fixed before the end of the week. My car was repaired quickly (within two business days) and I went to pick it up in an absolute downpour so I paid our deductible and left. The next day when it stopped raining I had a chance to examine the work done. My bumper did not match the rest of my car. My car was only 6 months old so it was not a matter of faded paint. When I called Saunders about it they scheduled me an appointment to come see them. When I arrived they offered to "repair" my car immediately but the repair suggested was that they buff and polish my bumper not actually repaint it the proper colour. It has been 3 months and my car is still not properly repaired. I have incurred in excess of $1200 in repairs because when they painted the small section of bumper they left some 3M pads in my trunk lid upon closing it which caused the trunk to not be properly aligned and it broke the latch cover, the car was filled with black fuzzy lint which I had to have cleaned and the stain to this day could not be removed from my door post. My insurance company is in the process of ensuring my car be fixed properly but it definitely won't be by Saunders. Their manager called me and apologized for the behaviour of the staff who was cussing and behaving inappropriately and cited that there had been some recent staffing changes but that still did not make my experience any better as they still didn't do the job properly and were abrasive when asked to fix it. I highly recommend that anyone considering Saunders as their body shop reconsider.
