Sav-A-Lot Movers Reviews (%countItem)

On April 1, 2019, Sav-a-lot Movers, LLC had two individuals who performed moving service for me.

The company did not provide me with a copy of the contract after I signed it. An individual who introduced himself as LJ, presumably Larry J, later left a document that lacked my signature. This raised a question to me as to what was on the previous document before I signed it. The document has spaces where information could have been written in before or after a customer signs.

During the move, I witnessed the two individuals hit my hallway walls with furniture (a blue sofa) they were moving into my home. I immediately brought it to their attention. Sav-a-lot Movers damaged additional property, including breaking off the leg of a dresser. The broken dresser leg was either intentionally or unintentionally left under the dresser.

I found the dresser and other damages within minutes after the movers left. I filed a written claim via text and provided pictures. Sav-a-lot Movers became dismissive of my claim. I later filed via its website on April 28. The company has remained dismissive.

I have communicated with Gloria *** via email. I have provided Gloria *** everything the company requested. I have provided them with pictures of the damaged properties, purchase receipts of the damaged furniture, and my availability for the company to send an authorized representative to my home regarding the claim. Upon providing pictures of the damages, Gloria *** asserted no damages based on her statement that 'I do not see any damages.? Nevertheless, I emailed the company additional pictures showing the broken off leg of the dresser. Sav-a-lot Movers has neither emailed me nor called me to confirm what date and time the company would send an authorized professional to my home to address the claim.

The estimated damages of my claim are as follows:
The cost of the dresser, blue sofa, brown sofa, and standing lamp at a 4% depreciation rate each year is approximately $829.56. The estimated cost of painting/repairing the walls is $330.92.
Product_Or_Service: Moving Service

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) That Sav-a-lot Movers repair/make payments for the damaged properties, consistent with its policy and the contract.

Sav-A-Lot Movers Response • Dec 10, 2019

I am no longer responding to this customer. This consumer (Mr. ***) has filed a complaint against my company with his attorney and with the State Attorney office. Each time he has filed a complaint the amount gets smaller. I will no longer respond to this consumer because I have shown evidence that Mr. has lied about my contract, about the damages and the amount we charged. The case was done under MU *** with the State Attorney Office. We charged the customer according to our price and signature of the customer honestly.

Customer Response • Dec 13, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I certify under penalty of perjury that the information contained herein and in my entire complaint is true and correct to the best of my knowledge, information, and belief.

Gloria J and Sav-a-lot Movers have continued to deflect from the facts, operate in bad faith, and engage in personal attacks, which likely constitute defamation of character.

Regarding the copy of the contract that lacked my signature, which Sav-a-lot Movers left at my home, see attached. This makes Gloria J's statement a lie.

Regarding the amount, my representatives in their letter (no complaint filed with any authority) to Sav-a-lot Movers stated: "Mr. documents damages well over $800." The amount in my Revdex.com complaint is not less than $800. This makes Gloria J's statement a lie.

My complaint to Office of the AG, Consumer Protection Division (CPD), see attached, has amounts without outlined depreciation. Gloria J's response to the CPD includes: "Now Mr. wants to get paid more than the value of what his actual move cost as well as payment for furniture that has lost its value once it left the retail store." In my complaint submitted to Revdex.com, calculation of depreciation for the furniture yielded the approximated amount and thus addressed Gloria J's statement relative to depreciation.

Other Gloria J's statements to the CPD includes: "Mr. has not contacted our office to schedule for the touch-up for the walls and I have called his phone number on several occasions to schedule a time for my guys to come out and left messages that he has yet to respond to." This statement is a lie. See attached emails I sent to Sav-a-lot Movers for scheduling to come to my home. Gloria J/Sav-a-lot Movers has neither responded to confirm a date/time nor called and leave any voice messages to confirm a date/time. Gloria J failed to cooperate with CPD and in the resolution process; as a result, the CPD closed the complaint.

Gloria J's approach has been to deflect, request something (e.g., furniture receipts, depreciation, etc.), and abandon the company's responsibility of addressing the damages even upon receiving all that they have requested.

Sav-a-lot Movers, LLC is formerly known as Sav-a-lot Movers, Inc. See its other Revdex.com records. The company used similar bad faith approach on Rob B per Rob's statements. Sav-a-lot Movers appears to have not changed. An apparent potential tactic of Sav-a lot Movers is that glowing reviews about them appears around the same timeframe someone files a complaint to the company or reaches out via Revdex.com about the company.

Sav-a-lot Movers had two ill-prepared children who came with LJ, presumably, Larry J, for my move service. I provided the two individuals with bottles of water and gloves as LJ sat outside in a [third-party] *** truck. I witnessed the two individuals damage my properties, and I immediately brought it to their attention. I filed a complaint with the company as required. Yet, Gloria J/Sav-a-lot Movers continues to ignore the facts and remains dismissive of the matter.

I am interested in Revdex.com's mediation and binding arbitration services to help resolve this matter.

My desired outcome remains the same.

The company was very professional. The whole time they were moving my things, the guys would talk to one another about ensuring they did not hit the walls, the dis-assemble and re-assemble all my things back in place. They had the cheapest rates and was early to the appoint. I would recommend this company to everyone.
