 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: My child did not miss practices without notice. For every practice or game my child miss I have emails and/or  text messages where I notified the team she would not be attending due to illness.  I did not receive anything with the team policy about refunds during the one  day my child was at tryouts or before paying. I have never received anything outside of emails from the team. And when I ask for a a copy of the policy or where it could be found my emails were ignored.  My child has her own ball, goal, cones, and training gear. Savannah United does not provide the coaches with so much as a spear ball in case a child forgets to bring one.  The team they put together was clearly not up to the level of a travel team. The Coaches often miss practice, resulting in pool practice that do not prepare the team for the game ahead. Savannah United does not care about anything but there money.

Soccer is the only thing we care about. All of the club's full time directors have dedicated their lives to the sport, both as players in our younger years and now as coaches / teachers in our later years. The game has been very good to us. It has brought us a lot of joy and although this is a business by definition, we go above and beyond to ensure that as with it's nature, soccer is available to all. We do our best to give back to the game. We have some of the most competitive prices in the state for all levels of play. We run special programs for mentally and physically disabled children and support the annual Special Olympics. Savannah United also have a 'United in the Community' Program where we send coaches into public schools to promote the game at no cost to the school. The coaching and equipment is provided by Savannah United. In addition, we hold an annual 'Kids Kickin For Cancer' Charity Event which has raised thousands of dollars toward Breast Cancer Research. These are just a few examples of why I find it wrong of Mrs [redacted] to question the club's integrity and adherence to our mission.
Mrs [redacted] daughter was a part of our academy program. The commitment for academy is essentially 1 year, Aug-May. We ensure all parents are aware of this including the fact that there is a strict, no-refund policy. This is in compliance with Georgia Soccer State Rules and I do not know of another competitive program in Georgia that operates any differently. We are not allowed to hold formal tryouts between Fall and Spring seasons. Therefore, if we cannot bring new players in, we cannot allow them to leave their team short handed mid season. This would impact the team, the coaching staff, the program and the club on a number of levels and again this is supported by our state association. My colleague, [redacted] is copied on this email and she can provide the information sent to Mrs [redacted] along with all other parents stating the commitment from Aug-May and the refund policy, prior to registration & any payment taking place.
As for some of the other claims in Mrs [redacted] complaint. All academy coaches are provided with the necessary training equipment or we simply could not function as coaches. The coach of the team in question is copied on this email to support that fact. Soccer balls are the responsibility of the players and we do this for two good reasons. 1) It teaches the players responsibility. 2) If they do not have a ball at home to bring to practices then they are clearly not working on their game at home and to become a fully developed player, this is essential to the process.
The coach of the team, Ciara Thomas, missed practices and / or games on very few occasions to my knowledge. As I said earlier, she is copied on this email and can be more specific about her attendance. If there is ever a time a coach cannot attend a practice session, it is then my job to find the appropriate coverage and I don't believe a single practice was canceled for all 20+ academy teams other than for weather related reasons during the Fall 2014 season.
Finally, regarding the number of players. There were several occasions we had to bring in some additional 'guest' players to provide the team with enough players, but this is common practice in academy soccer. Players can be moved to any team at any time for development reasons and only on one occasion did the team have to play with less than the minimum number of players required. This was not an ideal situation, but along with all other occasions, the team was let down by families who were on the team roster and failed to commit to the schedule that was provided weeks in advance of the season before a ball had been kicked. Mrs [redacted] daughter is one the players who failed to show up to a high number of practices and games. On many occasions absences occurred without any notice.
The club is more than happy to honor Mrs [redacted] registration through until the end of the Spring season and Jalen is welcome to participate if she is able to meet the commitment required of a competitive academy soccer player. She has the coaches information and should inform her ahead of time if attending.
Let me know if there is any other information I need to provide.
