Respond to the complaint back on 10/05/2015, we did not work on the timing belt after she purchased the vehicle. the only thing we did to the vehicle is change a crank sensor and brake pads. which is completely different than what she talked about. she left with a fixed car (on 10/13/2015) is...

responsible for taking care of her car after that due to being sold as is. she states she had a different problem after two months on 12/04/15 after driving the vehicle. and we cant be held responsible for her vehicle she owns it and amused all responsibility when bought it as is.

I am rejecting this response because: The car still had the oil light problem after save auto "fixed" the car and the timing belt that was fixed by save auto there they have no record of it being fixed when asked to see the documents. If they fixed the belt the mechanic who did the job did not do a satisfactory job and they sold a unsafe dangerous vehicle

Review: Bought a 2002 [redacted] 10/05/15 they said they just fixed the timing belt. on 10/12/15 had to bring it back for the check engine light, oil light and brakes to be fixed the pads were at 1\32

When asking about the timing belt information they had non and said their shop did the work

The timing belt is covered in silicone

12/04/15 driving to work oil light comes on again car makes a pop sound and fills up with smoke.

Had car towed to house called save auto to see if I could have them work on it and was told no.

Speaking to a mechanic the amount of silicone on the timing belt could easily plug up a oil galley and cause that engine problem.Desired Settlement: I want the timing belt and any damages their mechanic caused from that fixed or my money back

Review: Harassment, slander, threats, strong arming, refusal to accept payment, holding person against their will, not honoring contract

I put a down payment of $500 down on 8-2-2013 on 2005 Nissan Murano vin #[redacted]. At that time I gave them check stubs from my employer and state disability (I had been on since May 23, 2013), notes from my employer, and DR stating that I was still currently employed at Methodist Hospital Sac. and that I would be returning to work once released by the DR, I also gave them bank statements from June 2013 through August 2013. They copied it all. I was to come in 8-5-2013 with the rest of the deposit and finish purchase of suv. I did so on 8-5-2013 Signed contract with Lobel Financial, spoke with and got ins. while there. ( sales man was [redacted], & finance/owner was [redacted]). The next day Lobel called left a message to call. When I called they referred me Save Auto. [redacted] called me also to come sign some paperwork. I went in and he took my original contract and shredded it. I signed a new one with Westlake Financial, and left. I received a letter from Westlake one dated Aug. 14 and another Aug 21 from Westlake confirming the loan agreement. The first payment was due on 9-4-2013. I was unable to make payment on that date. Got a few calls from Westlake about this and one from Save Auto. I called Westlake and told them I would make it as soon as I got EDD payment. before payment was made Save Auto called my friends, family, and job, said I was a fraud, liar, thief, and committed grand theft auto. They said that they were sending the police to arrest me at my job. My job told them never to call again and I was on leave. They wanted to know were to find me. They called my job and friends multiple times from different numbers. They said the same type of things to my friends & family. They threatened them. Said they would be in trouble for helping me with the stolen car. said I lied about were I lived, my job & phone # (none of witch was true). I called to make a payment on 10-2-2013. They put me on hold for about 15min, I gave up, and mailed the payment. The check was NSF on 10-9-2013. I called on 10-14-2013 and made a debit payment of $409 for Sept. p & part of Oct. I spoke with a person from Westlake. They accepted the payment but said they still may repo the SUV. I said I would call back with the rest & Nov. in a couple wks when my EDD came in. Mean while the threatening calls continue. I sent an Email on Oct. 2 to Save Auto asking them to stop calling my friends & job. Call me. My # was the same. On 10-25-13 I got a letter from Westlake that they sold my contract back to Save Auto & to send payments there. 10-26-13 my son-in-law tried to go make payment at Save Auto. They wouldn't take it & 4 guys wouldn't let him leave the office & blocked his car in lot until he called me. He didn't call me. The police had to be called so he could leave. That night tow truck came my house to get car Son-in-law went out to see who was walking to back yard, a 2nd man got out with a gun visible. He spoke with my son in law about what happened earlier at car lot & told him he carried gun for protection in his line of work. He left & didn't take car. Calls and treats of police, and $500 reward for info on my whereabouts were still going on despite requests to stop. They never contacted me. I mailed a check to Westlake for $620.34 for the balance of Oct. & all of Nov. Time stamped by US postal service 11-7-13. Not cash as of yet. No money refunded to me as of yet. No further contact made to me.Desired Settlement: $32,000

Response:

It is my belief from the information I seen that the compliance issue with this vehicle, is that this vehicle may have been sold, repo'd by save Auto and then resold to me. And that when Westlake went to register it, it already has a lien on it. Also, from my research the owner of Save Auto, was the same owner of U Save Auto, witch has had other complaint. Also as far as my son-in-law and them not letting him leave their property when he went to take a payment. [redacted] when researched from what I can tell has had assault charges against him.

Review: I purchased a 2003 Chevrolet Astro van used from Save Auto Sales on June 29 2015 . On June 30 2015 I drove it to the store and half way there the check engine light came on and I felt the transmission slip . I immediately took it to my mechanic for a inspection . He ran a diagnostic test on it and his computer said the transmission was bad and that it needed a new one which would run me about $2400.00 . I then took the van back to the dealer . The owner [redacted] tested the van and once again it said the same thing . He asked for the keys and said the transaction is cancelled because he was not willing to replaced the transmission .He said that he would reimburse me the money back to my card . He never reimbursed my credit card company the $3600.00 and he still has the van . I called him several time and have shown up at his lot but he says he doesn't have the money but that my bank has the money .Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my $3600.00 back to my credit card .

Review: I bought a vehicle, they asked to put a GPS on it. I made an appt, instead they repossessed my car and kept my deposit and won't answer the phone.

I bought a vehicle, made a 2300.00 deposit, signed the paperwork, drove the car home. Two weeks later the Car lot asked me to come in to place a GPS on the vehicle at the request of the finance company. I called the finance company to verify. They did. I was unable to drive into Sacramento from Chico on the same day request because of work. Save Auto made an appt. to have someone come out to place the GPS one the vehicle. Instead they repossessed the car, refuse to refund my money of even answer why they did what they did. I have to file a small claims. I sent a certified letter requesting a return of all deposits. No reply. No call. When I call they say they are not the person I need to call. I ask who they say SAVE AUTO. I am talking to SAVE AUTO. They say, no not me. The boss. Who is the BOSS? They say not me and I get a run around. They took my deposit and resold the car.Desired Settlement: 2300.00 deposit.

Business' Initial Response

The information that [redacted] give us was false! we sold her the car after hours and had a temporary approval from the bank later the bank notified us that she had 4 different social security numbers and she was trying to commit fraud on us. we notified her that the bank would not finance her and that the car needs to come back. she said "No" and so I told her I would have to repo the car. in the 3-4 weeks she had the car she put 1871 miles on the car and trashed the car and I still have the car on my lot. after repo charge, mileage charge we feel that if is fair that we give back $700 we offered this to her on the phone and she hung up, if she is willing to accept it please send us a note in writing. based on the banks information she has multiple addresses in Alaska

[redacted] and [redacted]

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

This business was deceptive and has not tried to contact me since the incident occurred. the incident being them repo'ing the car that I paid 2300.00 deposit for and signed paper work. Even the finance company confirmed that everything was good. The just needed to put a GPS device on it. I have names, dates and number's of everyone I spoke with.

Each time I have called I was given the run around about who actually will pay me back my deposit. As far as the SS numbers, I have no idea what that is about. I was recently divorced and changed back to my maiden name and recently separated from the US Army. I went to a credit counselor to see what this might be related to and they found nothing to confirm that I was associated to anything other than my own SS#.

I will see this company in small claims court and file a report with the Attorney General for this illegal business practice.

This company is CROOKED. By the way,the finance company was still willing to finance me. Save Auto is SHADY. I was able to secure a loan from another company without any issues. I just want my money back. Good riddance. Do the right thing and refund me my money. As for the miles, it was my car??? Why would I not drive it?? CROOKED. Horrible nightmarish experience. Sad excuse for a company. Sad.
