strategiesDuring my workshop I mention that I'm a well-known author with multiple books published My book on College Planning has been the top selling book on College Planning on Kindle for the last years When I met with the clients to do their social security they wanted to know about our College Planning servicesOur fee for College Planning is typically about $2,to $3,which is lower than most of my competitorsWe typically deal with high school students and work on Sat and Act test prep, essay coaching, best fit colleges and career assessmentThey informed me at this time that they had a daughter who had graduated from high school and was working in the Bay Area but was probably coming home and wanted to possibly attend collegeI met with the wife Kathy on numerous occasions with, no charge and explained to her I would give them a huge discount and only charge $but I wanted to meet with the daughter firstI met with the daughter and the mother and they assured me that the daughter was serious about going to college at that timeI told them to think about it go home talk about it and make sure they're committed to our planThey did and they subsequently sent me a check for $1,We then ordered the personality assessments and career assessments with coachingI had multiple phone conversations with the daughter and the motherI also attended the coaching calls with an out of state coachthese calls were about getting into college, which colleges would be a good fitWhich majors and what would be a good career fitFrom the git was very obvious for us to see that the mother was pushing the daughter into this and this is probably not going to be what the daughter wantedThe daughter said she was serious about going to school and seemed committedI have another staff member named *** *** who was assigned to this case and she attempted to communicate multiple times with the daughter about completing all this forms and additional info that we neededShe eventually quit returning our emails and phone callsEventually, I believe the daughter gave up on really wanting to go to college *** sent a request to get his money refunded and he then called our office and spoke to one of my assistants but never asked for meMy assistant said that we had spent over $of our money as well as time and we didn't feel we dropped the ballI eventually sent an answer back that we don't refund money once we agree to do something we do itWe followed up on our end and we spent multiple hours and a lot of our time are and moneyOur out-of-pocket cost was in excess of $for these tests and we do not work for freeI offered to refund him $he refused and subsequently has done nothing but complainI've told him and sent him letters explaining if you wants to talk to me in person he can schedule an appointment or call me at my officeI would be glad to discuss thisI offered him the $but he wasn't happy with that and to be quite frank in years we've never had a single solitary complaint At this time if he's not happy with the $then I'll wait till 9/30/and withdraw the offerI'm a man of my word and old school business man when I say I'm going to do something I do itI've singed up for many things in my life and paid up front for those servicesMany times I also realized that it wasn't going to work for me so I just stopped but I never asked for my money backWhy?
