Savemore Auto Parts Reviews (2)

Review: On 4/25/14 I purchased a used engine from [redacted] Auto Parts in [redacted], MD via phone. I provided my credit card #. I purchased the used engine which I was told had 67,000 miles on it for $2,400.00. In addition to this I purchased a 6 month warranty on the engine. They refer to this as a Silver Warranty. The warranty was $240 plus $125 for tow. My invoice states my total as $2,784.00. At time of purchase I asked the sales rep when my car would be picked up and how long it would take for me to receive my car back after repair. I was told my car would be picked up that Saturday April 26th and would receive my car back by the end of the following week. Between May 2 when car was towed to Save More Auto (a division of [redacted] Auto Parts) and June 24th (date installation was complete) I was told that I needed an intake gasket ($63.14) & oil tube($17). When I picked up the car I was charged for the intake gasket, oil hose, engine fluid package ($59.99), shop surcharge ($30), install ($1100) and tow ($125) which I had already explained to them I paid initially when I purchased the engine. So I was charged twice for the tow. On 10/5/14 I noticed that my car was smoking, I called Brandywine/Save More Auto and expressed that my engine was overheating and I recently had the engine purchased & installed by them still within my 6 month warranty. I was told to bring the car in & the diagnostic would be $80, car was dropped off to them 10/13/14, I was called later that day that my water hose needed to be replaced. So that's $80 for the diagnostic which wasn't even a full diagnostic in addition to $173.37 for parts and labor. 10/14/14 I called to find out if my engine was fine and his reply was yes. I picked up the car 10/17/14. On 10/20/14 my steering wheel locked up and car was not drivable. I had the car looked at by the auto repair shop across from my kids school and was told my engine is leaking from the top and bottom. [redacted] did not do a thorough job and sold me a shotty engineDesired Settlement: I am looking to receive a refund on what I paid for the engine as I believe is shotty as well as the amount I was charged for being charged twice for the tow from my residence to the shop.

Review: I took my car to have a new engine installed. I was informed that I needed a new ignition switch, I authorized. They had our car for 44 days. We were put off week after week waiting for them to fix the ignition When I went to pick up my car, there was a screw driver in my ignition an the ignition cylinder was missing completely. I was informed that they could not find a housing for the cylinder. My wife called to ask how come they did not reuse the old housing and was answered with rude and aggressive response that the car is old and they could not find the part.

We discovered the heat nor air conditioning works. The system does not come on no matter what setting is selected.Desired Settlement: I like to be compensated for the parts and labor to have the ignition and the heating/air conditioning fixed properly. I do not want this company working on my car again. We found the needed to fix the ignition.
