Saving Grace Medical Academy Ltd Reviews (2)

Good Afternoon,Please find attached our working relationship with Mr. [redacted] and his partner. We have a time line of all contact from the time they signed up for the class (November 2016), attended the class (December 7, 2016) and the time when Mr. [redacted] raised his dispute (March 30, 2017). We...

attempted several times to resolve this issue with him and invited him to review the course outline of what was taught to him and his partner. We also provided our Dispute Form to him, which he refused to fill out. Mr. [redacted] and his partner were informed at the time of their course that since they were attending the course purely for information that they would be taught Standard First Aid curriculum which not only includes all course materials taught in the Standard Child Care First Aid program, but also includes the teaching of Adult CPR/AED Techniques, Emergency Childbirth, Signs of a Miscarriage, and many other rescue techniques not taught with the Standard Child Care curriculum. Both Mr. [redacted] and his partner agreed to this and were pleased that the course would be one day in class with an online portion instead of two days in class. They were provided with the online portion on December 7, which was the date of their in class session and went home after thanking the instructor. They were provided with a temporary slip of completion for the in class portion with an expiration date on it. By accepting this slip in class they also agreed to the policies of Saving Grace Medical Academy Ltd. to complete the online portion within the guidelines set forward by the [redacted] (6 weeks). While we are sorry Mr. [redacted] and his partner feel as though they were mislead, they both agreed to taking the Standard First Aid course in class and by not completing the online component within the given time frame have broken the training contract between themselves and Saving Grace Medical Academy. As Mr. [redacted] has stated on several occasions he wants "only the information" and by upgrading their course to Standard First Aid, the instructor was providing more information to them than the original class they had signed up for.

To clarify, each seat is $130.00 and Mr. [redacted] and his partner purchased two seats equaling a total of $260.00. While we attempted to resolve this issue with Mr. [redacted] by offering a partial refund or the PINs for the information as he requested, he refused all of the attempts. He should be contacted shortly by a representative of the [redacted] to rectify the situation as he was given inaccurate information.  The person in question, who gave him the inaccurate information will be under review. The [redacted] employs a system called "[redacted]" which dictates "The instructor is allowed to adapt the course to suit the needs of the student" and gives the instructor the freedom to decide how much detail to include in the course and lesson plans. The completion of a course is therefore up to the student to adhere to the policies and procedures of the institution that they attended. The [redacted] provides lesson plans and teaching guidelines to training partners, it does not dictate the business policies. We give our students 6 weeks to complete their online training portion either before or after their program to ensure the knowledge base. If a student does not complete the online portion within our policy time frame, they are put into "failure" status and the account is closed, all funds forfeit. We did not assign PINs prior to entry to the classroom as Mr. [redacted] and his partner were registered under her name and it was unclear until the in class portion that they did not require the program they had signed up for, for employment purposes. As they have said repeatedly all they wanted "was information" and they both agreed to upgrade to a higher level of curriculum at no additional charge in class. They unfortunately passed their 6 week deadline for completion (January 18, 2017) and did not contact us until March 28, 2017 (69 days past the completion deadline). Quoted from our website which is taken directly from the guidelines of the [redacted]. We have been told directly from the [redacted] that a student is allowed to complete the online portion after the in class session and our policies maintain the 6 week period. Blended-Learning - There is a 6 week maximum completion time frame from when you enroll in theprogram to when you need to complete your in class portion. If you do not attend a classroom sessionwithin the 6 weeks of course purchase you will be required to purchase a second PIN and retake theonline course. To schedule your in class session contact the registrar at 1-[redacted].
