Review: My car overheated & lost all coolant 11/27/2014 @10P in Howell NJ. At a police officer's direction I pushed the car off road for the night.

11/28 at 9A I found Save-on Auto Service only 3 miles from car. They said they fix Minis & could handle the towing & repair.

[redacted] @ Save-on called with diagnosis & quote @ 1P. She said water pump & serpentine belt needed replacement @ cost $750 (w/towing).

I authorized full repair.

11/29 @10A she left a VM to say it also needed a new water tube which she needs to pick up from Mini dealer in Oakhurst NJ & asked for my return call.

I called @11A & authorized full repair, now 3 parts. I also said don't rush, I don't need the car back this weekend.

She called at 1P to say it would be completed by 2.

[redacted] was gone at 2, I saw owner [redacted] & saw the car still not done so I again said it's okay to keep it into the week. don't rush. He said no just wait 20 min.

It wasn’t until he presented the bill for $1038 that he said he did not change the serpentine belt so he took $48 off the repair cost. I insisted that I wanted a new belt. He replied, his supplier didn't carry it. I said “The dealer certainly would have it & you (Save-on) were there a few hours ago for the tube.” He got & said "LISTEN, I CANT GET THE BELT. THE REPAIR IS DONE”.

I paid with credit card. He gave me the keys. I left only to breakdown 8 miles down the road overheating from a broken belt.

I called but Save-on closed for the weekend.

I paid $75 to tow it back.

On 12/1/14 [redacted] called, left VM. She quoted $425 for a belt, tensioner, pulley, labor & said this included $25 overnight shipping for belt.

I went to Save-on, expressed dissatisfaction for a problem now caused by negligence of having NOT replaced a critical part.

[redacted] tried to spin it saying it’s my fault.

I said I will take my car elsewhere & I paid $212 to have it towed a 3rd time to the mini dealership nearest my house

where it was finally repaired with only a new belt & cooling system flush.Desired Settlement: Refund of $1038.86 (cost of careless repair which included the initial flatbed charge of $95)

Plus

Refund of the second $75.00 flatbed charge incurred when I, in good faith, moved the car back to their shop in order to giver them the opportunity to make good on this repair.

Regards,

Review: brought my vehicle to save on auto. The shop told us it was the alternator and the battary charged us $655 . picked up my vehicle one week later due to the cost and not being able to pay all at once . I got half a mile down the street and the car went died again. Was told by "save on auto" to tow it to my dealership that it was electrical work that needed to be done. AS PER [redacted] DEALER mechanic he said it was the Alternator and that wires were hanging out and that the connecter was melted (is documented by [redacted] dealership ) and that the alternator wasnt properly installed. Called save on auto back and they towed my car back to thir shop. They claim they fixed it again and I drove to work and got stuck on [redacted] Towed it back to the shop where they then ordered a [redacted] alternator. charged me another 95 to fix it . Save on auto inconvienced me to where I was without a vehicle for days. They did not want to cover a rental car nor did they want to cover towing fees. They were very uncaring about me being without a car and told me that it wasnt their fault that the 3rd time of being at the shop the alternator I needed wasnt in.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund on towing fees. spent 130 towing it from my job back to the shop after the 3rd time. also charged me an additional 95 for a newer alternator. due to not having a car I needed to call out of work . If they fixed the car to begin with for the 655 they charged I would not have had to get it towed so many times nor called out of work from them having my vehicle for days.

I am rejecting this response because:

MOST of what was said was a COMPLETE LIE. I AM the wife and the owner of the car in which was brought to save on auto. [redacted] who responded to this report was only spoken to briefly. She was not there when [redacted] yelled and crumbled up the paper that was going to be given to us for the charge of the [redacted] Alternator. YES IT IS TRUE WE WAITED 4 days to pick up our car but this was told to save on auto and we were in agreement that that was "fine" . NOT TO MENTION HALF of the funds were deducted out of our account the day we were given the full price in which we have receipt of as well while the car sat and the remained was paid in full when we picked it up. I am disgusted with how [redacted] name was SLANDERED and LIES were said about how he reacted. HE IS A OFFICER and would never put his name or his career on the line for ANYONE due to unprofessional actions. [redacted] remained calm the entire time during this whole 2 wk process of us trying to get my car fixed. This report was submitted before we picked up the [redacted] due to the nasty attitudes over the phone and the careless attitude when asked if a rental was going to be provided. The additional 95 was NOT PAID BECAUSE [redacted] KNEW we spent money on all of the tows due to the car not being properly fixed from gate. IT WAS NEVER SAID to [redacted] that they were installing a rebuilt one, nor did he deny what was needed to fix the car. Its also insulting that save on auto suggested that we get the car towed to the dealer at MY expense 5 min after picked up the vehicle the 1st time. THAT GAVE NO TIME TO PULL WIRES OR ANY OF THAT NONSENSE THEY CLAIMED. IT IS DOCUMENTED AS PER [redacted] DEALER the exact issues and how wires where pulled and hanging out. We have all the call logs saved as well. WE know nothing about cars to know what wires should be pulled out. AS PER [redacted] DEALER they said the work was done incorrectly and to call save on auto back! For save on auto to lie and say that they couldn't leave voice mails was a lie. WE STILL HAVE SAVED every voicemail that was left along with all the towing fees after they claimed TWICE that the car was fixed. I refuse to continue to address all lies thru writing it is clear that this matter needs to be taken further than just the Revdex.com. Thank you for your time.
