WARNING: Public Matchmaker Notes
On SawYouAtSinai, a matchmaker can leave notes about you which are viewable to hundreds of other matchmakers. I confirmed this with them, after multiple tries and threats. Do they tell you about this beforehand? Not really. I found on the SYAS Matchmaker User Agreement that the “private notes” of a matchmaker will be removed if he or she leaves SYAS. And although the agreement indemnifies SYAS from liability on matchmaker actions, I didn’t see anything on the document which states that SYAS will provide a forum for a matchmaker’s “private” notes to be viewable by other matchmakers. (That’s not even what the word means!) I also don’t see such a thing on the SYAS Member User Agreement.

SYAS told me that the notes are no longer viewable once a member leaves the site, but I found it hard to completely remove my profile, and a woman who wrote a piece on this claimed that notes on her “disabled” profile remained accessible to matchmakers. Let’s assume SYAS told me the complete truth on this one point, it still doesn’t cover the main issue.

Here’s the aforementioned article that a woman wrote about this: https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/the-lashon-hara-of-saw-you-at-sinai-matchmaker-n...
WARNING: Public Matchmaker Notes

My account has been disabled and when I call they don’t return my messages
I don’t understand how unprofessional this is . I left numerous phone messages and no one returns my calls

Got kicked off for no reason
I literally signed up for the service back in February. I was guaranteed and told I would get referrals and also potentially dates from skilled Match Maker’s. I spoke to a girl who over thought the conversation that I had with her and complained about me. There was no evidence or proof of her claims and in doing so my account was terminated with no backing of anything that she said. I have tried to email and also contact saw you at Sinai by phone as well. Although I was credited back for the difference of service I feel cheated that I have not been contacted and he paid more by Jewish law one is not allowed to come to conclusions without proper evidence. I would like to reactivate my account and try to use a sister service that they provide simply just signed up within two hours I was removed was nothing and did nothing to do so. I understand a lot of people out there may have use this set service but I have done nothing of the sort so I am a good guy a nice guy I have a wonderful reputation and I do feel cheated by how I have been treated.

Review: SawYouAtSinai.com promises 2 dedicated matchmakers who help you find potential mates. In fact, paying users wait days before matchmakers respond to their emails, take no time to even ask what the client is looking for and refuse to answer any questions. However, that was the least of the problems. One matchmaker, a disturbed person who calls herself [redacted] (her name in real life is [redacted], accepted to be a matchmaker, suggested matches without responding to my requests to call or email me beforehand and then abruptly cancelled them when she found out that my divorce had caused a rift with "modern-orthodox" (i.e. anti-religious) [redacted]. The site's affiliation with [redacted] and their mutual sharing of private information is not advertised. When challenged for her unprofessionalism, she first changed her name on the site and then cancelled my account. [redacted] and [redacted] was contacted, refused to return any phone calls left at the site's number (as did the other directors) and refused to respond to emails. When contacted at another publicly listed number, he yelled and screamed that "this was his home number" and that he would not refund the money even though he was refusing to provide the service that he was paid for. This is a scam that uses deceptive advertising and baits religious people. The fact that [redacted] is a member of the "Modern-Orthodox" network of activists who fight against orthodox Jews, yet solicits their business and seeks to rip them off, should also be noted and is the sole motivating factor of his outrageous behavior. His deceptive/false advertising is also a violation of FTC statutes and harms the public at large.Desired Settlement: Insist on a refund of the $18.95 that was ill-gotten and compensation for serious defamation and cancelling of 4 potential matches.
