Saylors Automotive Reviews (1)

We here at Saylor’s Automotive have been in business in this area for thirty years.  Our technicians have over seventy five plus years of experience combined.  It is our mission to assist customer is choosing the right repairs to make to their vehicles to insure maximum value, and...

sustainability to their vehicles. In regards to the complaint filed against us, allow me to respond with this.  The vehicle clearly has a grounding issue, an issue that we informed the customer about.  The ground issue in this case with the air conditioning compressor, runs electrically trough the Power Train Control Module (PCM).  To properly repair the vehicle, without causing future problems, would be to replace the PCM.  Bypassing the PCM and running a ground to the compressor, which is how the complaint stated it was fixed, will cause the compressor to constantly run and remain engaged, which over time, will cause premature failure to the compressor unit itself.  While it is possible to make such rigged repairs, we at Saylor’s choose not to do so for the customer’s sake and peace of mind.  This type of repair is merely a temporary fix, a band aid to the larger problem. As far as the “missing screws” that the customer talked about, all we can really say is this; if the bolts that hold the compressor are not in place, like they should be, then the vehicle will not run.  If the bolts are missing, or are loose, then the belt that drives the vehicle components (compressor, alternator and power steering pump) will not allow the vehicle to maintain a running state as this will cause the belt will slip off the grooves on the pulleys and cause the vehicle to become hard to steer and eventually cause the battery to die.  If these bolts were missing, or loose, then the complaint would be that the car would not start and run. In regards to the radiator “hanging down”, the radiator sits on the core support for the vehicle and in no way can hang down like the customer stated.  We even asked the customer to take pictures of this haning radiator and the missing bolts she said were not there and she could not provide us with any proof other than “that’s what my guy told me.”  As for the cooling fans that she said didn’t need to be replaced, when we removed her old cooling fans from the vehicle we tested them by putting direct power to them and they did not work.  We then installed the new fans and they worked just fine.We are sad that we lost a good customer, but we can’t please everyone all the time I suppose.  We did make an attempt to smooth things over with the customer, and offered to replace the PCM labor free, but the customer declined
