I was first contacted by a so-called IT recruiter who acted like he a had a job lined up, and wanted me to fill out a "Consultant personal details" form (asking for personal details such as name, address, email id, skype id, last 4 digits of SS #, passport *** experience, etc). I responded to him saying that I could not do that being that I wouldn't send personal information in an email, especially seeing that his email address was a gmail address with the company name being part of it. This seemed quite shady to me so I told him to send me a proper email from his company email address. He said that he would have his manager email me, which is from their company email address so I agreed. His manager emails me a few minutes later (mind you he spelled my name wrong), greeting me with a small email and "company about me", with the same form request. I sent it back with a few of the requested details. The initial "recruiter" called me again to ask if I could send him a picture of my Drivers License. I told him that I wouldn't do that. He then asked me why, and that if I didn't feel comfortable, I could send it over Whatsapp and then he tried gaining my confidence by telling me we were the same religion and that he wouldn't screw over his brother. I told him that I hoped that they could get me a job interview as soon as possible, even though I had many doubts about pursuing this. He said that he would do his best and that their company was excellent in getting new contracts for their employees. After I hung up with him, I quickly searched the company and decided to call the main number to ask about this person I was speaking to. The weird thing was that when I called the main number, the person who picked up was the same person who claimed to be the recruiter's manager (his email signature showed he is actually a "US IT Recruiter") picked up the phone. I have not heard back from any of them for over 2 weeks now and the recruiter is not responding to my emails now. Is this a scam or what?
