SBR Energy

Review: I agreed to try the ESCO (SBR) power company for my electricity. I was told when I got my first bill I would see a big difference. I did see a big difference, but unfortunately it was in the wrong direction. In the one month I had SBR, my bill doubled. I called conedison and was informed that the SBR price per Kw was 13cents as opposed to 8cents through con edison. This company is not trustworthy and as far as I can see is robbing it's customers.

I have switched back to con edison and am taking this as a lesson not to blindly switch carriers, despite the wonderful promises they give you.

Review: I was a customer of SBR energy for over a year. Several times throughout the year they admittedly billed me the incorrect rate for suppling my energy and sent me a refund check. Got tired of SBR mistakes and signed up with Agway 1/28/13. Called SBR again and was informed that because I had switched companies I was no longer entitled to receive a check.It is obvious after several phone calls that this is a very small operation. One manager and one secretary, [redacted]. They were very nice and appologetic in the beginning couldn't understand why my rates were always wrong. I called Public Service Commission was informed that because SBR is not requlated they could charge me anything they wanted there was nothing they would do.

Since they have admitted their error several times I feel I derseve a rebate. Not knowing what the corrct price for the kWhs should have been I based my overages on a rate of .062kWh. The $109 they sent me in the beginning of the year was for the previous year. So I feel they owe me at least $500 and an appology. All SBR energy customers need to know that they may be charged the wrong rate.
