I was contracted by customer to put in flooring transition and lock in double French doorsI installed the transition that customer purchased as well as a lock I purchasedCustomer wanted a stripe plate but I informed her that the door was
too thin and would crack the wood on the doorAfter transition was installed she stated she did not like it and wanted me to come back another time to install a new oneI informed her that it would be another trip charge as work had been completed to her specificationsShe stated that she would not pay more because she was not happy with the transition that she purchasedShe wanted it replaced with a different transition free of chargeShe was billed $which was severely discountedTypical charge would have been $60/hr plus $for the lock as well as an $trip chargeI was there for hoursShe then called and demanded her money back or that she would report me immediatelyI again informed her there would be a trip charge to come back outShe told me if I didn't give her money back that she would take action

Originally since the business owner was out of town, he sent a substitute that represented his companyThis substitute person went and purchased the lock at my local hardware storeThis same person put in the lock itself, not the business ownerThis same person could not get the plate to work on my door so he went back again to the hardware storeHe was here about 1/hourI called the business owner to let him know that the door was not done properly and that there was a hole in the door without a plateThe business owner said that this substitute person was no longer with his company since his work was not acceptableThe business owner said that he would come back and put in the plate but this was never doneHe never once told me that the door was too thinAll my other doors similar to this have the plateEqually important, the lock was put in and did not split the door so his logic about the door being too thick to install a plate is incorrect otherwise the lock would have ruined the door
Regarding the transition piece, I was fine with the transition piece that I had chosenThe business owner tried to install it but kept breaking his drill bitHe then put in nails instead of screws that did not hold properlyHe then told me the price of $He asked if that price was okayI told him only if he put in the plate and fixed the floor transitionI told him I was not happy with this installation and he said that he would take it upon himself to ask a friend for a different transition pieceHowever, this never happened so I am stuck with a transition piece that was poorly installed and barely holding
I have used this business before since it was recommended by my next door neighborIn the past the work was acceptableNever ONCE was I quoted any of the pricing he stated aboveNever onceIn the past, when the work was done, he quoted me a price and I paid himMy next door neighbor then called the business owner to have some work done at her house and said that he could go over and fix the mess he left at my houseNeedless to say, he never showed up at her house or mineWhen I called the business owner, he became belligerent and refused to fix what was not done properly the first time
