As per our conversation, I am contacting you about the complaint sent by [redacted] (ID [redacted]) in August, 2014.
[redacted] moved out of our storage facility on August *, 2009 (5 years ago) and sent us his claim on July **, 2014!!!!!!

He claims that he received the documents from [redacted] that hasn’t been employed for our company for the past 2 years.
I personally spoke to [redacted] and explained to him that we and our insurance company will not be able to handle his claim as it was for a move that was done 5 years ago. He said that he spoke to [redacted] that left Scanio over 2 years.

There is nothing we can do about his claim as the statute of limitation on filing a claim ended over 4 years ago.
I would like to verify that this complaint will not appear on our Revdex.com report as this is a claim that cannot be verified from 5 years ago.

I will also send you the email we received from the client with the claim form dated 7/**/2014 which is the first time he filed a claim with our company.

Thanks,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]  Thank you for your response; however, the response does not answer how my belongings were stored and why they were damaged during the time my belongings were stored with Scanio, and why the items were stored so badly without bubble wrap, etc. when in fact Scanio advertises that it uses those methods/materials.  The items were wrapped in my own bedding and the items were damanged, moldy, and dirty.    Furthermore, since this claim has been ongoing because I was in contact with different employees at Scanio about this, the statute of limitations should be tolled - when I called Scanio many times, I spoke to different individuals each time, I was assured that my complaint would be addressed even without filing a claim form.  It was frustrating because there seemingly was a different person each time I called the company.  Nobody directed me to file a form except for [redacted].
Please reimburse me for the storage costs or at least a percentage of the money I spent for five years storing my items with Scanio, which some items I had to throw out due to the mold, dirt, and/or being broken.

Review: We hired Scanio Moving & Storage in June of 2014 to move us from [redacted] to [redacted]. They picked up our furniture on June [redacted] 2014, stored it over night in New Jersey and delivered it to Wilmington, Ma on June [redacted]. They arrived at the estimated time, unloaded our furniture and were paid for their services. Immediately we were informed of a damaged item and photos were taken. They explained that we had to file a claim. Later in the day as we unwrapped and began to unpack, we noticed more damages to other items. We contacted , [redacted] at Scanio Moving & Storage [redacted], numerous times to get this claim filed. We've completed all of the necessary paper work required, we've sent photos, we've had documents notarized and as of today September [redacted] 2014 have yet to receive a call from the Claims department with any further details. [redacted] has also failed to follow through with this process. We can document all of the emails that have been sent from day 1.Desired Settlement: We want to be compensated for the damage to our furniture and want answers immediately. We moved 3 months ago and have no clarity on what the next steps for getting reimbursed are.

Review: On May **, 2013, Scanio Movers delivered a coffee table, a wooden antique hutch and 2 paintings to me. They destroyed the coffee table and, upon trying to assemble the hutch, damaged 2 of the paintings (one of which is in tact from the front). The coffee table is unrepairable. I contacted Scanio and they offered me $100. The value of the table alone was $4,000 at the time of purchase.Desired Settlement: I would like $4,000 in monetary damages as the painting and the coffee table have not only sentimental value (they were my mother's and were being delivered from my mother's apartment upon her demise) but they are irreplacable.

[redacted],

Thank you for taking my call today to discuss the complaint filed against my company.

This job was scheduled with Scanio through her real estate broker that has been working with us for years. We did the broker a favor and scheduled this move on an extremely busy day for $440. The customer wasn’t present on the move day.

Our movers arrived on the move day to move and met the broker which showed us what needed to be moved. The broker signed the contract and signed up for the 30 cents per pound per article insurance.

We were to move one coffee and one hutch. Our foreman pointed out to the broker, who represented the customer, that the coffee table was damaged before we proceeded with the move.

The two items were delivered and a few days later the customer called to complain that the coffee table was damaged. We informed her to speak with the broker to confirm that the coffee table was damaged prior to us touching.

We offered her as a courtesy to the broker to refund her $100 and then she complained that we damaged a painting which we didn’t even move. At that point I realized that she is just trying to give us a hard time and is trying to collect $4,000 for a pre existing damage.

I can also forward you our email correspondence with her. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do for this customer as the table was damaged and the insurance that was taken was based on weight.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me at ###-###-#### with any additional questions.

Thanks,

President

Response:

The following is the conclusion of our investigation:

1. The coffee table was picked up with existing damages that were pointedout to your representative on site. The coffee table damages are old damagesand were not done by our movers

2.The insurance that was taken on the day of the move was .30 cents perpound per article (signed on the contract)

As a courtesy and based on the insurance taken we are offering you $100.00

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

As I have stated numerous times, the damage to the table was minimal wear and tear to the top only. The movers destroyed the table on the corners as well as the top. I have gotten an estimate to repair the damage. This damage was not pointed out to anyone.

I cannot accept the $100 that was offered to me. That is laughable.

Sincerely,

I moved from Upper West Side in NYC to Seattle, WA. Scanio Moving was one of three companies I was reviewing for a quote. I went with Scanio because their quote was guaranteed and they were professional in describing the procedure. They were on time and packed everything professionally. I arrived in Seattle days before they did, and they kept me posted with their location. I want to recommend Scanio Moving and Storage.

Review: I used Scanio for a move and used them for storage. The move was fine, but the storage of the belongings I didn't move to the new place is the issue. I stored my belongings with Scanio for five years. After five years, I had them delivered. Even the movers could not believe it and said I should sue. My belongings came back with mold and dirt - I had to throw out my mattress and box spring. My book cases came back with broken and cracked backs and missing shelves and brackets. The TV and personal computer were packed with tissue paper and wrapped in my own sheets but not secured so both items came back with marks and dents. Glasses were broken and the ones that weren't broken had dirt on them. All the Scanio boxes storing my belongings had dirt and green mold on the outside of all the boxes. The Scanio boxes storing my belongings looked crushed and dented.

When I contacted the [redacted], [redacted], he claimed there was nothing he could do even though I contacted them several times and spoke with his employees. Every call, his employees said they'd take care of it, and nothing happened. They delayed enough time and kept me hanging, so now the [redacted], said it's too late to make the claim and his insurance won't pay for it. Is that his strategy - telling his employees to delay it as long as possible and then refusing to reimburse b/c too much time has elapsed since the event in question?!Desired Settlement: I'm not asking for the market value of my belongings b/c the items were at least 5 years old, but I want half of the cost of the total I paid for storage and a written apology.
