Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I did not agree to any such 30-day policy, have already expressed as much to the company, and have still not received a refund Sincerely, [redacted]

To Whom It May Concern: Please see our attached response to complaint ID # [redacted].  Thanks for your time in reading this attachment! In good health,Mariel H[redacted]Customer Happiness EngineerSCD Lifestyle  February 20, 2017 To Whom It May Concern: Please accept...

the following information as our formal response to [redacted] Revdex.com complaint on 2/15/17 (ID # 11992545). My name is Mariel H[redacted] and I handle customer service tickets and refunds for SCD Lifestyle. I handled Ms. [redacted] refund request personally. Below I’ve compiled all of my correspondence with Ms. [redacted] since September 2015. I want to start by apologizing if this response goes beyond the normal response in length! I have spoken with Ms. [redacted] via email quite extensively, and I think it is important to include all of our correspondences here. While we’re very sorry that Ms. [redacted] is unhappy with her decision to purchase our course, we stand behind our program, our company, our refund policy, and our treatment of Ms. [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] purchased our Practitioner Liberation Project 16-Week Mentorship course on September 3, 2015. While customers have lifetime access to the online course, the course is designed to last 16 weeks, with new content released every week. We offer a 30-day refund period on our Practitioner Liberation Project course. Here’s a link where you can see the refund policy stated on the sales page: http://join.practitionerliberationproject.com/?eh=23465-24326-44302-16-20... very clear on this policy and are happy to issue refunds to anyone who makes a request within the first 30 days of the course. After this 30 day period, we do not issue refunds on the course. The refund policy is stated as follows on our sales pages: In Ms. [redacted] complaint, she states “Due to health concerns I was not able to request a refund in the 30-day policy stated on the company's sales page…” indicating she was aware of our refund policy both at the time of purchase and at the times she requested refunds. While Ms. [redacted] states she was was unable to request a refund due to these “health concerns,” they didn’t stop her from otherwise communicating with us or using the course in the first 30 days. On September 4, 2015 (the day after she purchased the course) we received the following email from Ms. [redacted]: Hi there! I signed up yesterday and am super excited to be a part of PLP. I wanted to check in and see if there was any way to unlock future weeks sooner than the program currently dictates? I should have requested this information prior to signing up, but I've taken a 3 month hiatus from my day job and am hauling as to get my site up and to get through my certification at FDN and was hoping I could make the PLP lessons fit even just a little more into my timeline. I'm in the program for the long haul regardless; I was just hoping to gain access to the lessons for me to work through at my own pace (which is pretty clipped right now). Thanks in advance for any assistance, and have a great weekend! [redacted] As is our normal policy, I was happy to open up the course early for her and did so on 9/4/15. She acknowledged that she could then access the entire course and thanked me. We didn’t hear from Ms. [redacted] again until November 3, 2015 - two months after she purchased the course and after the 30 day refund period had ended. Had Ms. [redacted] been unhappy with the purchase - or concerned that she hadn't been able to try it due to her “health concerns” - this would have been the time to let us know. Instead, she made the following request: Hi there! I'd like to pay of the remaining balance of the payment plan on a different card - is this possible? Let me know how to get the new info over to you if so. Thanks in advance! [redacted] Please note: at the time of purchase (9/3/15), Ms. [redacted] elected to pay for the course in 7 payments of $497 (total of $3,479). Again, we were happy to oblige her request, and after updating her billing information, the final payment of $1,988 was processed on 11/4/15 (she had already made 3 payments of $497). User logs from the online course platform we use show she accessed the course regularly and extensively from September 2015 through December 15, 2015. Ms. [redacted] User ID is [redacted], as seen here: Please see her complete user logs for our Practitoner Liberation Project course here: https://[redacted]/scdlifestyledownloads/SCD+Lifestyle+Customer+Voicemail... her communications with our company in September and November, as well as her continued use of the course she purchased, demonstrate she was capable of making a refund request or complaint in the 30-day allotted time period. After making her final payment on November 4, 2015, we didn’t hear from Ms. [redacted] again until July 2016 (10 months after her purchase). She first requested a refund because she was dissatisfied with her results from the course. I’m including all of our correspondences in July 2016 below: July 10, 2016: Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]  Hi there, I'm writing to request a refund on my PLP purchase. Even after completing all the coursework (I can provide evidence of this) and signing up for the Facebook support group, I've been disappointed in how such a large investment has so little return. The after purchase support has been minimal, although the migration from the forums to the Facebook group did help. I've also become distressed by the "success stories", primarily [redacted], as my fiance and I worked with him as our health coach for a time and he was clearly not well versed in making people better - the lab work I have from both of us before and after working with Nourish Balance Thrive proves that we were worse off for working with him, despite following all his advice. My issue is that I clearly bought into something, thinking it was a solid business investment that would enable further self improvement, when it fact it's a system to get folks who don't care about making people better into a money making mill with no concern about after effect. Please advise how to proceed, and thank you in advance for your time. [redacted] July 11, 2016: Email from myself ([email protected]) to [redacted]@gmail.com:  Hi [redacted], Thanks for reaching out to us about this matter. We are deeply disappointed to hear this, as we do believe in you and your ability to change the world. The PLP program has a 30-day refund policy. We provide this period so that practitioners have a chance to see if the program is a good fit for them and it is stated on the sales page for the program as follows: "If you take action on the material, and in the first 30 days you decide you don't love it, you can send us an email showing us the work you've done and that you're not happy with the results. We’ll be happy to refund your money." You purchased on 9/3/15 and are no longer eligible for a refund. I will certainly pass your feedback on to Steve and Jordan. I know they will appreciate it. As far as getting support goes, I am here to help! We hold weekly live calls in the PLP Mastermind group as well as respond to comments and questions. We're happy to support you however you need it. Thanks for your understanding! In good health, Mariel Response from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]  Hi Mariel, Thank you for the quick response. My issue is what the group has evolved to; those who are not experienced entrepreneurs (and don't seem to be gaining experience), and only interested in making a quick dollar, potentially at the risk of other people's health. This is not how the program was marketed, and is also not a concept one can evaluate after 30 days. While the program was still based within the forum, this was easy to hide as most of us were still working our way though the course work. I understand the 30 day policy, however the deal breakers I'm contesting wouldn't have been evaluated within that timeframe. Thanks again for your time, [redacted] Please note: This email from [redacted] in July 2016 directly contradicts her Revdex.com complaint that “Due to health concerns I was not able to request a refund in the 30-day policy stated on the company's sales page…” ? There is no mention of any “health concerns” that prevented her from accessing the course - in fact, [redacted] says she can provide evidence that she completed ALL the coursework - which contradicts her statement that her “health concerns” prevented her from using the materials. ? Her first complaint is that she has not been personally successful with the course materials, not that she been unable to use them: “I've been disappointed in how such a large investment has so little return.” ? She then states her issue is with other members of the course: “My issue is what the group has evolved to; those who are not experienced entrepreneurs (and don't seem to be gaining experience), and only interested in making a quick dollar, potentially at the risk of other people's health.” While we took this criticism seriously, our program is, in fact, marketed to new health coaches and practitioners (not experienced entrepreneurs) who are looking to grow their business. Interaction or participation with other course members is NOT required for the course. ? Finally, [redacted] makes reference to the “forum.” At the time of her purchase, 4 months of access to a forum of Practitioner Liberation Project students was included in her purchase. Her 4 months of access to the forum ended in January 2016. In March 2016, we replaced the forum with an all-access Facebook group. Members are encouraged, but not required, to join the group. Email from myself ([email protected]) to [redacted]@gmail.com  Hi [redacted], I'm not sure what you mean about being "easy to hide." The PLP program has always been business training program for practitioners - we don't teach any health-coaching skills and focus solely on building your business. The PLP Mastermind Facebook group was a free upgrade we provided to practitioners in the program - when you purchased the course it only included 4 months of access to the forum. We think the new Facebook group is a great addition to the program. If you disagree, you're in no way obligated to participate in it. Again, i'll pass your feedback on to Steve and Jordan. Thanks for your understanding. On behalf of the entire Practitioner Liberation Project Team, I wish you the very best and hope you have a wonderful day! In good health, Mariel End of July 2016 correspondence We had no further correspondence with Ms. [redacted] until February 2017. Again, I’ll be sharing all of our correspondences in February. While I apologize for the length of this document, I think it is important to demonstrate how fully we worked with Ms. [redacted]. I’d also like to clarify that SCD Lifestyle is a very small company, with just 6 employees. I spoke with all the other employees about this situation with Ms. [redacted] as it was on-going. February 3, 2017: Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]  Hi Mariel, I wanted to check in on this again. I would still like to discuss getting at least some of my money back on the PLP, as I am not on Facebook, and therefore get no value from that part of the program. I also did not not get any value from the online forum, as there was no activity worthwhile from fellow users. I believe you acknowledged that by migrating to Facebook. Again, the primary draw of this program was to be able to get with like minded individuals, see what works and what doesn't, and to put it into practice. Without those elements, there isn't the value worth what I paid. I am an FDN-P and get uncomfortable with how much they suggest the program and the discussion around the worth, and don't want to be down on it because it might very well be worth the cost to my peers. However the inflexibility in my case is a turn off. Thanks again for your time regarding this, [redacted] Email from myself ([email protected]) to [redacted]@gmail.com:  Hi [redacted], Our stance hasn't changed since July. You purchased the program well over a year ago. The refund policy is clearly stated as 30 days. On behalf of the entire Practitioner Liberation Project Team, I wish you the very best and hope you have a wonderful day! In good health, Mariel Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]  Hi Mariel, Who can I speak to next about this request? Thanks! [redacted] Email from myself ([email protected]) to [redacted]@gmail.com:  Hi [redacted], We won't be changing our opinion. As we've discussed in the past, I'm really sorry you were unhappy with the course. We provide a 30 day refund policy for the program so that those who are unsatisfied can opt-out of the course and be refunded. Beyond this period, we don't refund the program. On behalf of the entire Practitioner Liberation Project Team, I wish you the very best and hope you have a wonderful day! In good health, Mariel Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]  Hi Mariel, As we've also discussed in the past, I am unhappy with what this course provided considering the cost. 30 days is not enough time to establish that for this type of program. So I will also not be changing my opinion, and as I've also previously stated I am willing to compromise on refund amount. So as far as next steps, who do I next speak with? Thanks! [redacted] Email from myself ([email protected]) to [redacted]@gmail.com:  Hi [redacted], There are no other next steps. Thanks for your understanding of our policy. On behalf of the entire Practitioner Liberation Project Team, I wish you the very best and hope you have a wonderful day! In good health, Mariel Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]  Hi Mariel, Thanks for understanding that I need to speak to someone what about this at this time. Thanks! [redacted] Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]  Hi Mariel, Thanks again for your understanding of my desire to receive a refund. Who do I speak to next? Thanks! [redacted] February 7, 2017: Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]  Hi there, I'm hoping to follow up on my request to get a refund for the PLP program, initially broached almost a year ago. I'm willing to compile a proposal for a compromise on the actual amount to be refunded, or hear from you on this matter but either way would like to discuss how to move forward with my request. Thanks in advance! [redacted] Email from myself ([email protected]) to [redacted]@gmail.com:  Hi [redacted], As we've discussed before, your purchase is not eligible for a refund (partial or otherwise). On behalf of the entire Practitioner Liberation Project Team, I wish you the very best and hope you have a wonderful day! In good health, Mariel Mariel H[redacted] Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]:  Hi again Mariel, Thanks for the quick response. Who else can I speak with? [redacted] Email from myself ([email protected]) to [redacted]@gmail.com:  Hi [redacted], I handle all the refunds for all of our courses. On behalf of the entire Practitioner Liberation Project Team, I wish you the very best and hope you have a wonderful day! In good health, Mariel Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]:  Great! Then how can I handle a refund through you? If you can't help, then please put me in touch with someone else. Thanks again for understanding the importance of this. [redacted] Email from myself ([email protected]) to [redacted]@gmail.com:  Hi [redacted], You're not eligible for a refund. On behalf of the entire Practitioner Liberation Project Team, I wish you the very best and hope you have a wonderful day! In good health, Mariel Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]:  Hi Mariel, Even if that's so, I would like to speak with someone else. If you aren't able to assist me in that, can I assume an email blast to every possible SCD, PLP, Solving Leaky Gut and other email addresses I can find might land somewhere? Thanks! [redacted] Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]:  Hi Mariel, Please advise, as your guidance in this matter is appreciated. Thanks! [redacted] Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]:  Hi Mariel, Can I take your lack of immediate response as a sign that you are initiating the refund process? Thanks! [redacted] Email from myself ([email protected]) to [redacted]@gmail.com:  Hi [redacted], I know you're busy (and so am I!) so I want to make sure I'm really clear. Our refund policy for the PLP course is 30 days. You purchased on 9/3/2015 and are no longer eligible to be refunded. We don't offer partial refunds on the program. I also noted that we opened the entire course ahead of schedule for you - meaning you had access to the entire course in the first 30 days. I'm sorry you found the course unsatisfactory - we provide the 30-day refund policy for just this reason. After the 30-day refund period, we do not offer refunds on the course. You agreed to the 30-day refund policy - which is clearly stated on the sales page - when you purchased our course. I apologize that you found the course unsatisfactory. If I can assist you in some way in accessing or utilizing the course, I'd be happy to do so. On behalf of the entire Practitioner Liberation Project Team, I wish you the very best and hope you have a wonderful day! In good health, Mariel February 8, 2017: Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]  Hi Mariel, Thanks for clarifying! And I appreciate that you acknowledge that this seems to be taking up quite a bit of time. Let me also clarify - again - that this is important to me. You have yet to take my request seriously enough to even put me into contact with someone else to speak with, so can I assume my thought about regular email blasts to everyone I can find that might have to do with Steve and Jordan is the next move for me in that regard? Believe me, struggling with health concerns that put me out of commission during the 'allowable' timeframe and directly after isn't something I chose to go through, and I intend to do my best to remedy the timing issue now that I'm back on my feet. And, yet again, any guidance on how to best progress in this process is appreciated. This includes providing a mailing address, and/or phone number for the right folks to speak with if you don't see us being able to resolve this over email. Thanks! [redacted] Please note: February 8, 2017 is the first time [redacted] mentions any “health issues.” Email from myself ([email protected]) to [redacted]@gmail.com:  Hi [redacted], As stated previously: Our refund policy for the PLP course is 30 days. To be clear - I have made Steve and Jordan and the rest of the team aware of the situation. We stand behind our program and behind our policy. We're not willing to discuss the matter any further. On behalf of the entire Practitioner Liberation Project Team, I wish you the very best and hope you have a wonderful day! In good health, Mariel Email from [redacted]@gmail.com to [email protected]  Hi Mariel, Also to be clear, I have no trust at this point regarding you discussing the case with anyone with decision-making abilities, and I also doubt that even if you are, you are making any kind of case on my behalf. I look forward to continued contact as we work through this. Again, any other contact information would be highly appreciated. Consider it me asking for your help to make the most of this program. Thanks, [redacted] Please note: After discussing with my superiors (including SCD Lifestyle founders Steve W[redacted] and Jordan R[redacted]) we agreed the best course of action at this point was to cease communication with Ms. [redacted]. As you can see from these extensive email communications, Ms. [redacted] understood our return policy at the time of purchase and at the time of refund. Her reasoning for requesting a refund shifted from dissatisfaction with the course, to dissatisfaction with a free bonus (the Facebook group), to issues with other PLP members, to “health concerns.” While we are very regretful that Ms. [redacted] is unhappy with her decision to purchase our course, we’ve done everything we can to support her short of going back on our own clearly-stated policy. We’re unwilling to compromise on our refund policy given these circumstances. While I understood Ms. [redacted] desire to speak with someone else, as I stated several times, I am the person who handles refunds for the company - there is simply no one else for her to talk about this matter. I really appreciate you taking the time to review all this material (and I apologize for the length!). We are very proud of our Practitioner Liberation Project course - both the material itself and the services we provide to our customers. I strive to provide the best service possible to every member - even those like Ms. [redacted]. If you need ANY further information, I would be more than happy to provide it. Thanks again, Mariel H[redacted] Customer Happiness Engineer [redacted]@scdlifestyle.com scdlifestyle.com | solvingleakygut.com | practitionerliberationproject.com
