To Whom It May Concern,In answer to complaint ID #*** from customer *** ***, I have read her complaint in full and would like to give my response.Ms***’s *** Corvette was towed to my shop on 12/13/16. I received a copy of PDA’s estimate, Claim #***, dated
12/26/16. Upon teardown and further inspection, there were changes to the original repair estimate and *** ***, the adjustor, came back on 1/13/to go over the adjustments to the estimate. When I received the revised estimate from PDA, I ordered parts and began work on the vehicle on 2/17/The entire job required labor hours that computes to approximately business days not taking into account that some of the parts were on back order. Ms*** was contacted on 3/3/to let her know her car was completed and ready for pickup. She did not pick up the car until following month on 4/3/17.There were no repairs done to the convertible top or rear window and it was intact when the vehicle left. This is a convertible with a rear window that is laminated to the top. The convertible top was up when the vehicle left the shop. The back window was inspected before the vehicle left the shop. Ms*** returned two to three weeks later to complain about her back window. We called GM and they notified us that this is a known issue for this year vehicle.The total on Ms***’s claim was $11,787.81, not $13,600.00. Per the insurance, she had a $deductible, payable by Ms*** to the shop, which she paid.Ms*** was advised by the insurance company to take her vehicle to the dealership to have a diagnostic check for the mechanical issues. She was also advised at that time that if the mechanical issues were accident related, the insurance would cover it. However, if the issues were not accident related, Ms*** would be responsible for the cost of the diagnostics and any subsequent repairs.I did offer to repair the convertible/back window at our cost and gave her an estimate but she denied the offer.I believe we repaired Ms***’s vehicle appropriately to the estimate by PDA.
