Scenic Valley Golf Club Reviews (1)

Review: On April 30 my golf partner and I played a round of golf at Scenic Valley Golf Club. Half way through the round, the belt clasp holding my clubs in place vibrated loose, and my clubs spilled onto the asphalt path of hole number 18(we started on the back nine), causing damage to my brand new Taylormade SLDR driver, brand new Odyssey putter, and several of my two year old Taylormade irons. In addition, the brakes had continuously failed on the cart (which we reported). As soon as my partner and I retrieved my clubs,we went to the sign-in desk to exchange the cart and report the damage to my clubs. Ralph (I believe the name of the man taking tee times) said that the owners were sitting at the snack bar, and I should report the damage to one of them. I walked in and asked to speak with an owner. The waitress behind the counter pointed to a man and said he was an owner. That man, who did not give me his name, walked outside and asked me what the problem was. I explained and showed him my clubs, as well as mentioning that we had to change carts due to the brakes malfunctioning. Instead of showing concern, he was very quick to lay the blame on me by saying that the belt could not have slipped and gave it a couple of tugs to attempt to prove his point. He failed to acknowledge that the clasp was old and vibrated loose, the brakes were worn, and maintenance was required. He asked me to write down the clubs damaged and my name and phone number, promising that I would be called with information about what could be done. To this date, May 29, I have received no return call, even after calling several times to request one. I also sent a letter dated May 10 to an owner, a name I found online. Again, I received no reply or acknowledgment. I have played this game for a long time, and clubs have fallen off my cart twice in 35 years, and I don't appreciate blame for their lack of responsible maintenance. I was respectful explaining the damage and didn't appreciate his cavalier attitude. Poor customer service!Desired Settlement: Since the Taylormade driver and Odyssey putter were brand new, I would expect that either the heads be replaced with new ones or the clubs be replaced with new clubs. Athough the irons are damaged, I can live with them because they are two years old, but if the owner makes no effort to resolve the issue at this level, I will file with Small Claims Court. He didn't so much as offer an apology, nor even offer a free round of golf as had the courses'owners in the past when belt clasps failed.
