Schaeffer's Towing

On January 9th my 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C slid off the road around 6pm. Despite my insistence per the owners manual this would ruin the car they brough int a crane to lift the car the 15 feet across flat surface onto the tow truck. This car is designed around a single carbon chassis with all body and suspension components bolted to the ends of that. It only weighs 2400 lbs and the engine was running without airbags deployed.
Picking up the car broke the wheels, suspension, motor mounts, drive shaft then let the engine fall into the chassis causing 65k in damage to that part alone. The repair bill from the tow was 95k and to top it off when I went to retrieve my car they insisted the service bill to have my car returned was 5500!. They were worked for 20 minutes, refused to take any of my advise and ruined a 95k car the billed me 5500 so I could collect insurance.
It is a rare car and I am sure they did not know what they might encounter so they were protecting against gas leaks or other harmful situations. However if you dont know what your doing then you walk away from the job and dont take guesses in equally destructive ways. They claim the car was more than 50 ft into the trees - I have photos taken from the scene showing the entire landscaping line is only 18 ft deep total and with the body made of plastic and no engine in front their claim I knocked over several trees to enter the woods is impossible.
