Scherer Electric Reviews (3)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
After receiving this response from Scherer electric and the two voicemails left by ***, I contacted *** ***, the Hamburg electrical inspector, and *** ***, the field planning manager for NYSEG. *** Scherer told me that he spoke to *** on 10/8/and *** on 10/9/14. According to ***, *** said that he did not speak with me (he spoke with a neighbor), and he agreed that if the electric meter was less than 36" from the gas meter, that it did in fact need to be lowered. I called *** on 10/9/and he told me he did remember speaking with me as he was leaving. He confused my house with someone else down the street. But he did state that in fact the meter is fine and does not need to be lowered. He said there are no regulations to his knowledge in requiring a minimum distance from the electric meter to gas meter. He said if there is that it would be up to the utility provider, NYSEG, to make that call. I then called *** on 10/9/as well to discuss any issues with the height of my electric meter*** Scherer stated in his voicemail to me on 10/9/that he spoke with *** and she agrees that the meter shouldn't be where it isWhen talking to *** on 10/9/14, she told me that she did not say anything about the electric meter needing to be loweredShe told me that it needs to be somewhere between and feet, which it is. But she did say it's kind of tricky with my gas meter being close by. She stated that she needs to run this by her boss to see if my electric meter does need to be lowered, and that she would get back to me with this information within the next day. I also posted a review of my experience with Scherer electric on Angieslist.com. *** Scherer left a voicemail on my phone on 10/9/stating that my review of them is slanderous and that he wants me to take the review down immediately. He stated that if the review is not taken down by the end of the day on 10/9/14, that he will be handing this over to his attorney, Jim Smyton, to take care of this. Everything I said in that review and this review with the Revdex.com is completely true. *** Scherer is the one who is being slanderous accusing me of not speaking with *** when I did, and telling me that both *** and *** agreed that the electric meter needs to be lowered when they in fact did not say this. *** still needs to determine if this needs to be lowered by consulting her boss, and *** is ok with it. Despite all this, I am going to take my post down from***.com tomorrow morning, 10/10/14, because I have a family to take care of and cann 't afford to go to court over this. *** ***'s, the Hamburg electrical inspector, number is ###-###-####, ext.***. *** ***'s, the field planning manager for NYSEG, number is ###-###-####, ext.***. I would appreciate it if you called both of them to get their side of the story so you can see who is telling truth and bring me due justice. Thank you for helping me out with this!
Regards,
*** ***

Had work done by them a few years ago in a money put I purchasedThey are knowledgable, professional and stand behind their work They explain things to you and show you the problem before they fix it They did some brick work as well outside due to no box being there along with illegal wiring I had no idea about The owner did an awesome job I would highly recommend them I will only hire them for all my future electrical needs

Schemer electric informed me that there would be a $79 service fee for any work done.  I guess they consider the estimate work and falling under a service fee.  Also, I see they have an attached photo showing from ground level to the center of the electric meter being 72 inches or 6 feet.  I spoke with [redacted], the field planning manager for NYSEG, about this and she stated the electric meter must be a minimum of 5 feet and maximum of 6 feet from ground level to center of electric meter.  As you can see from the photo Scherer electric provided, it is exactly 6 feet and shouldn't have to be lowered.
