I am rejecting this response because:  I was a first-time property renter with no background in this field.   Schneider Real Estate held themselves out as professionals who specialize in this matter. The tenant they recommended worked for them.  I...

took Schneider at their word that she was screened and qualified.  Also, with this management company recommending their own employee, this could be construed as a direct Conflict of Interest.  The property may not have even been listed for the public to consider which would have resulted with a number of applicants for me to consider to whom to rent.  There was only one applicant presented to me - their employee.  Schneider had someone in their office who was a potential renter in order for them to tell me that they had a tenant.  They would receive fees but with the potential "tenant" being an employee of theirs, this poses a number of conflicts of interest by the company, including insider information and not conducting a thorough and complete background check.  On the
rental application, the tenant stated that she had NEVER been evicted. 
Had a cursory background check been done, it would have revealed two
prior evictions in the past two years.  These checks are normal steps
that any rental management company performs when screening tenants.  The tenant did not complete her financial obligation for the first year of occupancy under the contract. Also, the rental property address was incorrect.  How could I rely on such a company if the rental property is not listed correctly? I relied on Ms. [redacted] to guide me through the procedure.  I am still requesting the return of fees paid to execute the lease contract since Schneider Real Estate has not performed and fulfilled their obligations under the contract.
