Schooler's Construction Reviews (%countItem)

I contracted with Schooler Construction to remove the existing 20+ year old shower, replace the existing drain and install a new shower as well as replace an existing leaking copper line. When the work was completed the new shower had damage to the fiberglass finish. I believe this damaged occurred during work performed by the plumber due to during the first try at installing the shower his workers did not get the shower correctly aligned. I felt I did my due diligence at that time notifying both *** and his plumber at that time, that the shower pieces did not look correctly aligned and that they might want to come look at it before applying silicon sealant. Neither came and the crew proceeded with their work. The next day upon me again contacting them that the work was not correct they came and agreed it was not properly aligned. They then had to scrape off the applied silicon in order to reset the shower. The plumber denied that this is when the damage to the fiberglass occurred. He stated the damage was existing and that I should contact the manufacturer to perform the repair. I was assured by both *** and his subcontracted plumber that the repair could be fixed like new. In good faith I paid the entire bill of $3752.77. I notified the manufacturer of the damaged spot. All though I had to wait several weeks a repair person came and upon his departure the damage was worse then the original damage. I notified both *** and the plumber as well as the manufacturer regarding the work. The plumber agreed the repair work was some of the worst he had ever seen. I called the manufacturer again and was told I must allow them to send that repair person back which I did. Again I had to wait for his return. This time the repair looked better but shortly there after it peeled and split. I again called the manufacturer and was now advised they could send someone else. This was in June . That individual was unable to come until October 8th. He assessed that the repair was defective but also informed me that the shower floor was failing. I told him that Ifelt it giving and he showed me where it was cracking. He told me to report this to the manufacturer. I did that day and the repair ticket has now been open to repair the wall as well as to drill holes in the new shower floor and shoot a filling underneath it, then reseal the shower floor with a substance that may or may not match. That repair as of this date has still not been done.
I hired *** to provide me with a new shower but have been left with a damaged shower since the completion of the job that will not only have a repaired side but also a bottom. I feel it is reasonable for me to expect a new shower vs a damaged and repaired one. The plumber was subcontracted by Schooler construction and the shower was chosen by that plumber. Either way you look at it the plumber either installed a shower which he knew had fiberglass damage or his crew damaged it upon installation. I do not believe I should have to bare the financial cost of removing this damaged shower, replacing it with a new undamaged shower and all necessary sheetrock and plumbing work involved in the replacement. Nor do I believe I should have to settle for a repaired shower. This situation has been on going for 10 months now. I have sent *** two letters asking for reimbursement for the with no response whatsoever. He was the highest bid but was recommend as someone that did quality work.

She was having issues with the warranty work and it was faulty because of the tub which was a manufacturer's issue. The consumer was unhappy that it took so long but that was up to the manufacturer. We got it fixed and it is resolved.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:
It is inaccurate they portray that they resolved the issue and they did not. It was only through perseverance on my part that it was finally resolved. It was unfortunate that the contractor did not contact me with any assistance over the year to resolve this issue even though I sent two letters asking for assistance. It was only after a complaint to the Revdex.com that they reached out and that in fact was AFTER I was finally able to get a resolution on my own. Very disheartening that a local vendor excuse for non contact was that my certified letters must have fallen through the cracks when they apparently were capable of receiving my payment a year ago when mailed to that same business address. I would accept their response if it accurately reflected how the situation got resolved and remove their statement that they had anything to do with the resolution of this issue.

Sincerely
