Schools Financial Credit Union Reviews (6)

I just received an apology letter from SCHOOLS Financial Credit Union and I'm satisfied with the response....

Also the VP of the Member Services contacted my wife and personally apologized for what was an issue with their system. Everyone at SFCU who spoke with my wife were courteous. Thank you Revdex.com for the assistance in this matter and thank you SFCU for the swift response.

Review: Charging unnecessary fees. Money in account but they charged a courtesy fee when they are not suppose to since,I signed up to waive that service.

two complaints one was unauthorized charge, when it was refunded they did not refund courtesy fee 27.00.

Today's date 6/13/2013 they have done it again, charged courtesy fee when money is in account. See the banks create negatives as they see fit to excuse unnecessary fees. Money was in account as you can see from the picture they just arranged it so they can charge a fee. First of all no purchases are suppose to go through. I waived the service that they are charging me for I never agreed to pay courtesy fees. I signed up through their website to decline such things so I would not pay any fees. This is ridiculous that money is in the account and they are charging a fee.

6/13/2013

unauthorized transaction 8/12/12 return from company

unauthorized transaction and courtesy fee 8/5

Desired Settlement: 27.00 x 2= 54.00

Business' Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

I received a letter from them due to the financial privacy policies. I am very satisfied with how they handled the complaint. I was advised that there is also a ACH/drafts courtesy program which I have I did not opted out of. Even though I opted out of debit courtesy program. This was confusing to me since, I never heard of the other one. The process to opt out is done online and it only shows the courtesy pay option. That needs further explaining so other customers like myself know there are actually two. They paid me back the fees that were charged. One was for an unauthorized charge and the other was a dispute for what I thought I opted out of. I appreciate this company taking the time to settle the dispute and show me that they want me as a customer as I have been with them since, 2008.

Review: I had an auto payment on my credit card, which I no longer used, but did not realized that I still had an auto payment set up on it. I never received notice about the late payment, and have reached out to Schools Financial Credit Union to discuss it. Per the representative at the [redacted] called their collections agency, and claimed that they have called me and sent me letters to notify me of the delinquent status of the credit card. I advised the rep that I did not get any sort of notice in the mail or phone call from Schools Financial Credit union, everything on file about me was up to date. This was back in September 2015. Just to not hurt my credit score, I paid off the debt, talked to the rep at the [redacted] if there was any way they can back the payment date so I do not end up having bad credit, since I was 3 days off the cut off date. Also, I was in the process of trying to buy a home, so I did not want my credit score to get lower. They said no, since they've tried all they can to try to contact me and I was not reachable. Since the [redacted] and customer service on the phone was not helpful, I tried to plea my case to the [redacted], but they were unable to help as well. Now it is March 22,2016, I finally received 2 letters from Schools Financial credit Union. 1 Letter from Schools Financial Credit union was dated September 17,2015, but I did not get the letter until today March 22, 2016. this letter with the date September 22, 2015 on the letter, and sent in a PRESORTED first class mail postage, which did not have a date stamp on it, telling me that my [redacted] account was in delinquent status. The other letter, which I received at the same time, which is dated September 28, 2015, sent in a Presorted First class mail postage, with no postmark date stamp on it, but has the [redacted] on the envelope shows that my loan for my car was going to lose coverage as a lien holder, since my insurance expired.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my credit score corrected and have the delinquency off my credit report, and a letter of apology from Schools Financial Credit union in regards to the situation. I myself as a responsible consumer did my part to try to resolve the issue, and when I discovered the issue, I resolved it and fixed it as soon as possible. Schools financial Credit union on the other hand did not work with me, and did not follow their process as claimed.

Review: I've never missed a bill payment in my life and I pride myself with paying all my bills early. My payment plan for a vehicle financed by SCHOOLS Financial Credit Union (SFCU) is $464.10 per month. I mailed a check early this month for a payment due on 8/16/15. Although the date on my check indicates the due date of 8/16/15, the money was withdrawn from my account on 8/10/16. This is absolutely fine with me; however, the money withdrawn from my account was $464.00 instead of $464.10. My bank records indicate that my check was indeed written for $464.10. SFCU sent me a past-due-bill of 10 cents!! The 10 cent-bill was dated 8/26/15 but received in the mailbox on 8/30/15. The past-due-bill served as a first notice for what they called an "oversight" on my part. The irony. I'm appalled that SFCU did not bother to verify the amount shown on my check. It is even more upsetting that this can potentially affect my impeccable credit score. Apparently SFCU punishes it's customers for submitting their payments early.Desired Settlement: I want a written explanation for the oversight by SFCU and I want be assured that this absurd $0.10 charge will not affect my credit score.
