Review: On May 24th 2013 we took a Toro ridding lawnmower in for repairs because it would not start. We had changed the oil and replaced the battery with a brand new one. With it being a 3 day weekend we called on tue May 28th was advised that they were just pulling it in to start on it and there was gel in the carb, and he blew it all out but had not tried to start it yet.We called back the next morning and he said he was still working on it and he needed to sharpen the blades and it would be ready for us to pick up at 10:30 that day May 29th.I pulled into the back of the business to pick it up, was told to walk around the building to the office to pay, I paid with a check and was given a receipt. When I walked around the building to the back someone had already loaded the mower in my trailer, but no one was there, so I left.Today friday the 31st we went to use the mower and it will not start, just the same as before we took it in for repairs. I called and and talked to both the husband and wife of the business and was told they did repair it and if we would bring it back in they will see what the problem is and would charge for any more work done. The repair slip they gave when I picked it up shows flush out engine, spark plug, needle value, bowl qt, fuel filter, oil change (when I told them I had changed oil myself) shut off valve, sharpen blade, shop supplies total $57.00 Shop Time $220.00 total $300.19When they told me I would have to paid for additional work I called and put a stop payment on the check with our bank. The bank said there is no quarantee that the stop payment will stop him cashing the check.Desired Settlement: If our check clears I would like to be refunded for the shop time charge as the mower is just as it was when we took it in for the repairs. If it was running you would think the owner who did the repairs would have been there to start the mower before he loaded it into my trailer and then was not there when I returned out back of the business where my truck and trailer was parked. When something is not working and you take it to a business to repair it and pay $300.19 it should be repaired.

This customer was asked to bring the machine back and was even given an extra day to do so. He said he in fact was going to bring it back. He never did show up nor did he call back. His time is now up in accordance with the customer approval agreement form.

Review: On 5/2/13 we had our lawn tracker services thru Schroder Motor. I told the owner the starter assembly needed to be replaced, it is having start up issues. On 5/2/13 we paid $361.04 & picked up our lawn tracker, once home we tried to use the lawn tracker, it still would not start, even after Schroder motor had our tracker for 2 weeks, & took the full payment for work done, it still did not work. When I called the SAME day as picking it up, the owner told me I needed to jiggle the new key switch a certain way then it should start? I tried this twice & it worked both times, however last thursday I tried this & it did not work & the tracker will not start at all now. I faxed a note to them since Schroder motor did not answer last Thursday asking them to please call me...they never called. Today I called & the owner said "sorry I only have a 48 hour warranty" I said I called the same day as I picked it up....the owner of Schroder motor said he would have to look at the receipt & call me back. The owner of Schroder Motors called & left a detailed message on my cell phone stating " my warranty is ONLY 48 hours, sorry" & hung up. I still have this recorded message on my phone FYI. I immediately called him back today & said " I don't understand this is not how you give good customer service?" the owner of Schroder motor said if you want your money back bring me your tracker in exchange I will give you your $361.04 back?? & then I said " you charged me $200.00 out of the total charge of diagnosing my lawn tracker, which was the incorrect diagnosis or it would still work"???? The owner said "bt I don't ever want to see your tracker again! & he hung up on me!Desired Settlement: I would like a refund & to go elsewhere to have HONEST service! & a fixed lawn tracker.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9578595, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

In response to Schroder motors signed agreement it clearly states to report the problem within 48 hours, this problem was reported to Schroders motors within two (2) hours of pick up. At which time I was told to barely turn the on/off key & fiddle with the on/off key to get it to start. This technique did work 2 times, now this technique does not work, the unit will NOT turn on. Clearly, my lawn tracker was NOT properly repaired. I would of expected Mr [redacted]e Schroder to want to help resolve this matter, however his first response was to defend himself & state "It was used twice, anything could of happened now, I don't want to see your machine again!" At that time I asked for a refund for the shop time charged for diagnosing the start problem of $200.00 (a complete copy of the receipt is attached for your review. I noticed only partial receipt was conveniently put in Mr Schroder's response). Mr Schroder's response to my request for a refund was "If you want to bring your lawn tracker to me in exchange for a refund, that is what you can do." I of coarse, asked for the refund for the shop time again due to mis-diagnosis, & Mr. Schroder then cussed at me & hung up on me. He will no longer answer when I call now.

The machine was brought for starting issues. It does not start. He said there was no diagnostic charge what was the $200 shop time for?, changing the oil? Obveously [redacted] has no desire to solve this issues, only playing with words like a true snake oil salesman. This is why the mom and pop stores are dying across the country, no customer service, no skill, with no one to answere to! Just robb and still from the trysting consumer. What recourse do we have? Ask nicely (Revdex.com) and then ? Nothing?
