Mr. Schroeder owes me 300 dollars from money I paid to him, that he was later refunded.Schroeder contracting was hired to do a few jobs in Chapel Hill. Due to the Home Owners Association rules, all contractors are required to submit an application to them and be on their "list". The cost of this is 300.00. I wrote a check to Schroeder contracting for 750.00, which included the engineered landscape plans and the cost of the HOA application. Shortly after, [redacted] and his team cut down some trees at the residence. One of the trees fell on the house, and through the roof into the kitchen causing unexpected damage. [redacted] and his team did fix the issue to the best of their ability. Following, [redacted] chose not to work at this residence anymore. When he decided to not work here, he notified the HOA and they reimbursed his 300.00.[redacted] agreed to reimburse me the 300, as I paid him and he was reimbursed. He told me verbally numerous times, as well as on a text message.I was told via text on May 20 that :"[redacted] put it in the mail yesterday". I reached out May 26 asking if it was mailed to my house or my office and his response was "You should have gotten it by now, I believe it was your house". I never received the check. I have reached out to [redacted] numerous times, via text and have not heard back from him since May 26. I have given him sufficient time to pay and figure out where the check ended up. I am entitled to this money, as I paid him and he was shortly after reimbursed.
