Poor Customer Support by their pre-owned sales manager, *** *** at Schumacher's Northlake, FL location
On 12/19/we bought a GMC Yukon XL from Schumacher Auto Northlake We noticed during our test drive that the navigation was not working correctly and our sales associate, *** *** told us that it would just need to be reset and we could take the vehicle in to a GM dealership closer to our home to have this done
Upon contacting a GM dealer closer to home, their service manager told us that they are unable to reset a navigation system Every years GM upgrades their systems and a new disc would need to be purchased
We contacted ***, who told us that his manager, *** *** stated that since we purchased a pre-owned vehicle they were unable to help us His response was not what we expected for a dealership advertising "EXPECT SALES AND SERVICE TEAMS THAT TRULY CARE ABOUT YOUR NEEDS" Our request was not extravagant and the vehicle was advertised with a navigation system, which would and should mean a WORKING navigation system
This was our first time buying a GM vehicle We've always bought Nissan, to be exact This time we decided to branch out, try something new and needless to say our experience with Schumacher Auto Northlake and their pre-owned sales manager, *** *** has made us regret buying a GM vehicle it was a simple disc request that could have been handled at the dealer level yet their management staff clearly does NOT "truly care" about the customer We reached out to GM Corporate offices who were able to assist us but even when GM's Corporate office reached out to Schumacher's pre-owned sales manager, *** *** he still refused assistance
Poor customer service from Schumacher's pre-owned sales manager, *** *** has left us with a disappointing enough GM experience that we feel it only fair to make sure other consumers (as well as our friends and family in their area) are aware of our situation as well

Horrible experience!! Wouldn't recommend to anyone. A simple oil change turned into a broken hinge and my hood not staying on properly. Then they had the audacity to say it was broken before service.. Haha!! This place is an absolute joke! Stay away!! You'll thank me later.

The dealer did not deliver goods and services in a timely manner, so we had possession of a vehicle that did not meet meet license and title standards.

On February 10, 2015 we paid cash for a used Toyota 4Runner from Schumacher Volvo of the Palm Beaches. At the time of purchase, we were in Florida and planning to return to our home state of Oregon. The dealer said they would get us our local title, registration, and plates from Oregon and to expect the process to take six to eight weeks, with the paperwork and plates being mailed to our Oregon address. For this they ultimately charged us a total of $487 ($244 to cover Oregon fees, $145 for an "electronic registration filing fee", $98 for a "private tag agency fee"). The first bill of sale they presented to us had multiple accounting errors that resulted in several hundred dollars of additional cost. When we questioned all the charges, they corrected the errors, yet kept the $487 total for the work of securing out-of-state title, plates, and registration.

After two months, our second temporary tag had expired and we had received no Oregon title nor permanent plates. In the weeks leading up to this, we attempted to contact Schumacher numerous times and never received a return call. After contacting the FLHSMV Complaint department, Schumacher finally began to return our contact attempts. (FLHSMV Complaint #XXXXX) Eighty days after purchase (April 30, 2015) we finally received our Oregon plates and registration. One hundred days after purchase (May 20, 2015) we finally received the title.

On May 24, we sent Schumacher a letter requesting a refund for $487 due to the lack of service, timely follow-through, and professionalism. Schumacher replied saying "It was not the fault of the dealer. The servicing agency named DMV Nationwide we use for out of state registration was at fault. We put many calls and emails into them regarding your deal and can only do as such." The contract we signed was with Schumacher, not their subcontractor.

We feel that we were taken advantage of, manipulated, and belittled by the dealer throughout the purchase process. The extraordinary wait to have proof that we legally owned (i.e. plates and title) what we paid for in full paired with the complete lack of responsiveness left us feeling vulnerable, especially as out-of-state buyers. Our concern in contacting a consumer protection agency is that the dealer continues to behave in such a manner, negatively effecting other consumers, which reflects very poorly on the State of Florida. At this point, we are extremely hesitant to conduct any small or large business transactions in Florida.

I would like to follow up to Schumacher's response regarding my original review. The used car manager says we never called him. We called Schumacher 3 times & left messages for him. He NEVER returned our call. Corporate GM called & left to messages for him. He NEVER returned their call. Also anyone with good customer service skills never responds with "first of all"....this is a good example of the maturity level of the used car manager. I wanted to follow up with this review because our issue was resolved, but definitely NOT because of any proactive help from Schumacher. Based on the response from the used car manager it is clear he did not know what the issue was, an unfortunate sign of a manager not being involved with customer service issues. This was not just a miscommunication, there was an out right lie from Schumacher stating "the GPS can be reset". After emails to [redacted] & correspondence with Corporate GM our issue was finally resolved.
