Wood flooring is a commodity item and our product costs change on a weekly basis. This has been a issue the years we have been in business
I had authorized *** to offer *** *** a price for material only at our cost of $per sqquote for the wood product he is interested in purchasing. We do want to do business with *** *** and I would be willing to meet with him personal to find another lower cost product in our store below the 30% off offer to earn his trust and business

I spoke with [redacted] last week. I explained wood distribution pricing to him. [redacted] Donovan the distributor for [redacted] Flooring and Schumacher and Co. had, until about a year ago a stocking program that resulted in us doing a substantial amount of business together. During this time we were given the lowest cost price list they offered on [redacted] wood products. Distributors generally use 3-5 different prices list. Depending on volume and stocking programs, generally based on dealer commitment. This resulted in our 30 % discounted [redacted] pricing being only slightly below the competitors [redacted] shopped. I explained I can only take discount based on our companies retail prices based on our cost not our competitions
We moved our stocking wood program from [redacted] to Shaw, our company now has very low cost on Shaw products do to a million dollar commitment we have made to them. I have offered [redacted] 30% off the price of our new and very similar Shaw stocking programs. This would result in a $1.65 per sq. foot savings or a 30% off price of $3.85.
[redacted] seemed to understand and stated he would get back to me for a possible appointment.
I have been out of town traveling and unable to access this message until now. Recognizing that the message indicated a response was needed within 7 days and this would be day 5, I will review the message and discuss with my wife tonight after which I will advise you of our next step.
I will meet with Steve Contois from Schumacher Flooring to discuss this matter further. Unfortunately I have not been able to get in contact with Mr. Contois prior to today and I will talk with him as soon as possible. I appreciate that my concern about the advertisement has been recognized and I feel the change in wording as offered Mr. Contois will be a positive change and help negate future misunderstandings. As I had stated in my email to [redacted] at Schumacher, I had received two price quotes for the same flooring at a significantly lower price and I would like to talk to Mr. Contois to better understand why his price is so much higher. Since Schumacher has offered the flooring at their cost I feel it is appropriate to try and figure out the difference in pricing.
