Schwartz & Nagle Tires

Review: On September 2013, I drop off my car to Schwartz & Nagle Tires, Inc. at [redacted], Highland Park, NJ 08905, for a new “Timing Belt” service. The mechanic told me it will take a few days to complete. On the first week I called the shop, and they said it’s not ready yet and is still waiting for the part arrive. On the second week I made a called again and they said there’s an issue that they need to take care of which is that the car does not function normal, so they need more time to find out. On the third week, I spoke to the manger and he said to give him a few more days to perform the test drive. On next day the manager called me and said that the car is ready to pick up, and the total invoice was $794.19(Invoice Enclosed). Since I got car back, and I notice that engine coolant was empty fast (it’s never happen before), so I brought car back to the repair shop, and the mechanic look over and said everything its fine.

I suspected there’s something wrong with my car, I had to keep refill my coolant. So on the 10/24/2013, I drop off my car to Lexus Dealer at Edison, New Jersey, for maintenance , and the mechanic at the Lexus dealer reveal that there’s leaking from the engine and was due to the recent repair. The Lexus Dealer mechanic said that the previous repair had made huge problems and the Lexus dealer estimated the cost of all repair is $3189 (estimated enclosed).

I made a quick call to the Schwartz & Nagle the repair shop and spoke to the store manager the damages that they did to my car, and the manager told me to bring the car back and they will fix it, and I reply to the manager ; “No, I can’t trust your company anymore, and are you willing to pay my bill from the estimated $3189?” , and the store manager replied to me, “NO.”

I think it is unfair that it’s my responsibility for the bill that cost $3189, out of my pocket.Desired Settlement: responsible all my cost and the amount of $794.19 and $3189

[redacted] The repairs on the vehicle were completed on September 26th with 112,329 miles on the vehicle and a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty applies on all parts & labor. Upon customers return, a check of the vehicle did not reveal any obvious leaks and only a quart of antifreeze was added to the “Radiator Over Flow Reservoir”. It was believed that it needed to be topped off, since there were no other symptoms. Approximately four our weeks later when [redacted], store manager, received the phone call about the customers continuing problem with the loss of antifreeze he promptly request the customer to return for diagnoses and told the customer all repairs would be made under warranty, this was rejected by the customer, as stated in his complaint. Matt also made it quite clear all warranty issues would have to be confirmed by Schwartz & Nagle and repaired by Schwartz & Nagle, this too was rejected. The customer was unable to explain the nature of the repairs only the estimated cost of $3,189.00. Once again [redacted] made it very clear, without confirmation and the opportunity to address the issue, all repairs done else ware would be at

the owners expense, the response was “No, I can’t trust your company anymore” The customer was offered a loaner vehicle as well as I personally call his cell number in hopes that a cooler head would prevail. The returned phone call resulted with the same outcome, from the customer’s wife, she too rejected all offers or sense of reason and only responded, “No, I can’t trust your company

anymore” Any vehicle with over 100,000 miles is subject to failures for many reasons, antifreeze leaks etc. Schwartz & Nagle was never been given the opportunity or the courtesy to evaluate the problem. I am rejecting this response because:

I had originally gone to Schwartz and Nagle Tires Inc. for “Timing Belt Service”. After returning to Schwartz and Nagle Tires Inc. regarding antifreeze issues (which occurred after the timing belt service), it had come to the point where the company was failing to fix these issues

(antifreeze and ultimately the timing belt service) correctly. Because of my discontinued loyalty to this company due to constant failures of car repairs, I turned to the Lexus Dealer Shop for assistance. After careful analysis of my vehicle, Lexus revealed on there report that the car had “missing bolts” and “wrong bolts replaced” in the lower engine. I came to believe that this was caused by the service Schwartz and Nagle Tires Inc. performed on my vehicle in

September 2013.

In Schwartz and Nagle Tires Inc.’s response to my message, they seem only to refer to the issue regarding my vehicles antifreeze. I have come to the conclusion that the antifreeze issue arose because of the company’s unprofessional service on the timing belt, which

took longer than it should have taken. They also mentioned that “Any vehicle

with over 100,000 miles is subject to failures for many reasons, antifreeze leaks etc”, but to further suggest that it is Schwartz and Nagle Tires Inc.’s responsibility for the issues regarding the antifreeze and timing belt (revealed by Lexus Dealer Shop), my vehicle has gone through annual maintenance by Lexus that confirms the unlikeliness of the nature of these issues.
