We notified Rise Broadband on 6/28/that we were moving locations and needed to cancel servicesThe representative claimed they could not close our account until the exact day we wanted to terminateWe told them on 7/They said we had to call back they could not terminate in advanceWe called on 7/to confirm that we were calling to confirm our account was cancelledThey continued to send us bills every month for July, August and SeptWe attempted to call and send notes to the company to cancel services that we did not live at the address they had on file anymore and did not owe for any servicesWe were told each time a supervisor had to call us back that we could not be transferred to a supervisorWe spoke with [redacted] a supervisor at 5:pm on 8/12/that finally called us after months of continual callingShe confirmed we did not owe anythingIf we did owe it was maybe centsWe were told the policy of the company is to bill the customer for months after they c

I was a customer for a number of years and decided to call to see if they could lower my monthly billI was on the old contract so I had unlimited dataI was told my bill would be halved if I signed a two year contractI asked if they had a history of how much data I had been using since the new contract involved capping my usage at 350GBI was told they did not keep a history of my data usage but I would be fine Far from my average monthly bill being half of what I was paying, it has consistently been more and now with a capI believe Rise deliberately withheld my data history and talked me in to signing a contract so they could end my unlimited data usage and put me on a cap I have since canceled their service and they have now hit me with another $150+ early cancellation fee DISGUSTING BUSINESS PRACTICE AND LIES REGARDING MY DATA USAGENOT AN ETHICAL COMPANY TO DEAL WITH!

On 4/4/my wife set up autopay with Rise Broadband to have our monthly service charges automatically withdrawn from our bank accountI received an email confirmation from Rise that same day informing me of autopay setupThere was no mention of a past due amountApproximately weeks later I received a monthly statement from RiseIt did inform me of a past due amount of $and current charges equaled a total of Statement says this total is “due via autopay” and that “auto-bank payment will be made on 05/02/18”BUT Rise then shut off our internet service on 4/or 4/due to the unpaid balance, even though we have a statement in writing saying they would automatically withdraw payment on 5/ I called Rise on 4/made the payment over the phone, and was told our internet service would be back on within minutesRise charged a $reconnect fee Service was never reconnected On 4/I called Rise technical support, they were unable to reestablish a conn

Steer clear! After over years as a subscriber with spotty service that continuous calls do nothing to get me the 10MBPS I pay for, I was hoping for some help on my $75/month 10MBPS/200GB plan when they are advertising $29.95/month for the same 10MBPS with more, 250GB online! I was met with Shad, rudely told me that was only for new customers with a year contract There is no way I'm getting a contract with Rise buddy! Second Chat representative, Wesley, blatantly ended the chat message when I asked him why my email confirmation of increased data (more money per month by the way, no discounts) now included a $equipment rental fee when it had never shown before on my billing?? I'll be looking around and telling EVERYONE I SEE/MEET/SEE ON SOCIAL MEDIA to steer clear of Rise Broadband, while I look for a new ISP

On January 12, I received an email advertisement from Rise Broadband offering higher internet connection speed, a lower price, and a $ [redacted] gift card if I would call in and agree to a 2-year contract to remain with their serviceThe email specifically states that they will provide the fastest internet speed available to my address for $/ month for yearsIt sounded like a great deal to me so I called them up and agreed to the contractIt has now been over four months since that time, my price has remained at $per month, my internet speed has not changed, and I have never received the promised gift card I can understand my speed not improving due to my location, but at the very least my price should have decreased as promised and the gift card should have been sent to me long before nowI learned a couple weeks ago that they have a competitor in my rural area offering much higher speeds and a much higher data cap, so I switched providersToday I was informe

Like so many, I live in a very rural area that has limited Internet choicesWe were happy customers of a small, regionally owned, wireless broadband Internet company that was bought out by Rise Broadband about years agoSince Rise Broadband purchased the company, service has gone down hill steadilyWe went from calling 'local' people who had a positive attitude and actually acted like they wanted to be helpful, to calling folks from 'who knows where' that no longer had a positive attitude, don't know the system or area, and didn't careRise added a fees and services telling us after the fact and connectivity has degradedAdditionally, before the buy out, the previous company was making plans to upgrade our tower siteA Rise Tech who came out to service our antenna told us that those plans were scrapped after Rise bought the companyThe final straw came within the last few months when Rise Broadband enacted data limits on our only available plan without any prior notificationAlthough we do not use excessive data by any means (no movie watching, etc...), a past look at data rates showed our usage steady over the last two years with a few spikes that correspond with Windows system upgrades and PSupdatesWhen calling to complain about the unannounced switch from unlimited data to the lowest data plan available and the doubling of our bill we were presented with the following; Purchase a new two year contract and Rise Broadband will raise your data limits OR stay with no contract and pay more for less dataOne word sums up this type of

This complaint involves interaction after interaction with this company with no resolution It started with cancelling my web domain name, [redacted] and another domain [redacted] over two years ago I asked to cancel my domain names but because I had paid for my website for another year, I had to wait till that time was up After the time had ended I contacted rise broadband to release my domain names so that I could move them to another provider Efforts were made many times, I was given codes and yet, rise broadband would not release my domain names to me I built a new website through [redacted] my new domain name with the is [redacted] would change the name to [redacted] as soon as rise broadband released their hold on my account I was given several excuses I was told that I couldn't use the name [redacted] because I had to wait days for it to be released I waited and still they did not release my name I have had this name since

I have been a Rise/Rhino subscriber for over years without issue until this past JuneMy 20mb plan speed will vary from being down to almost 19mb at timesOutages last from a few minutes to well over hours at timesSpeeds will sometimes 2% of my plan for extended lengths of timeI have called Rise times and had one visit from Rise to my residenceI have documented outages during this time in a spreadsheet though more outages have occurred Calls to Rise result in varying guesses at root cause but none are being addressedA general Tower ticket was created around June 19th ( [redacted] ) but nothing shows to be addressed as of my call to Rise on July 7thA tech visited my residence on July 10th for a short time but did not observe the issue during this visit so no analysis could be doneThe tech did say he thought the issue was with the tower based on my historyThe tech stated they are seeing issues with the Access Point on the west side of the tower which would includ

I have terminated my service with Rise Broadband because they could not provide me with the Megabit speed that I was contracted forI was contracted for mbs per secondThe highest speed I ever received through Speed Test.net was 14mbsMost often, the sped test showed a speed of - mbsThey sent one of their technicians to my home to try and resolve this problemThis technician told me I would never be able to receive my contracted mbs, due to all of the trees in Eaton, CO, interfering with the satellites Rise Broadband charged me a termination fee of $I am paying this termination fee under protest in order to maintain my good credit ratingI believe it to be very unfair that I have to uphold my end of the contract by paying this termination fee, but they do not have to uphold their end of the contract by providing me the speeds the told me I could get when I agreed to my contract I have made many phone calls to this company trying to work with them t

Signed up for year unlimited internet data for residential house for a fixed rate couple months into contract Rise switched me to two year plan with data cap limit No notification or transparency with the switchNo authorization or confirmation from me the end user Additional charges started being applied and wasn't sure why until I looked into the bill more diligentlyThis is when I found out Rise had switch the agreed contract to something twice as long with not even half the data we use offered, that was not confirmed or authorizedIf this was the initial offer, we would not have signed up for a data cap where the services would not be a good fit for our situation End of one year arrives and go to switch providers and all this starts to unfoldNow I am stuck with an early termination fee for opting out of a two year when I initial signed up for one year No contracts I signed can be provided by the company to justify their actionsThey aren't even able

A number of travesties exist in Jeff K***’s “slash and burn business world” established from the fall of [redacted] Inc and as droves of other competitors now “roll over” for Jeff’s acquisitions to fatten his one-man behemoth-run monopoly called RISE BROADBAND Jeff’s rise to fame has been delivered via the pocketbooks and continuously deteriorating service suffered by millions of consumers exactly like me who are out here “living in the sticks” so to speak in a place like my own home town of tiny, rural, Venus, Texas - a ***ar system away from any kind of hope that a true broadband Internet source will ever be returned to us, or ever again surface as an approximation of the greater levels of service which once existed here and prior to RISE BROADBAND’s buying out [redacted] , Inc One of those travesties is that the Revdex.com chooses to honor Jeff with his A+ rating and a second one is that the FCC also honors him with his WISP council leadership status, while all the time he symbolizes

Entered into an agreement with this internet provider for service beginning around middle of October of We have had to call the tech support numerous times in just the first few weeks because of faulty equipment We never had good service and had to wait a few days each time before they could get here to try and resolve the issue The service was bad from the beginning When we did get service for a couple of hours even for a few days we'd get thrown off every time the wind blew My data would be way over on my cell service with [redacted] because if we didn't keep a VERY close eye on data conection on the cells we were being charged on the average of $45-$extra per month on the cell bill When they failed to fix the issues the last time, around middle of February they demanded full contract buyout which was around $ They have sinse turned this over to Collections and the Credit Bureaus and claim it was disconnected for non-payment

Incompetent and unethical companyI moved to some townhomes in Sandy, UT that did not have ComcastThere was basically zero options for internet, except Digis (now known as Rise Broadband)Well, as bad as Comcast is, at least they are reliableIn the last years our internet has probably been down 20% of the timeWe have had technicians come out probably ten or timesWith both people in my house working from home, it has been a pain in the ***To add insult to injury, every single month we go over our data limitBut we can't get on a higher plan because we are already on the higher oneSo they are just happy to tack on charges for every 10gb we go over on our crappy limitAnd, when it comes to being unethical: I realized my bill was more than expected this month (as usual) and I called inI had my usual data charges and another $for a "PC Care Plan" that I ABSOLUTELY NEVER ASKED FORThe rep told me that they decided to give it to *all [redacted] customers for months free and then they just left it on everyone's account to auto-charge unless they called in to "opt out"They said they sent out an email about it, I checked my emails which I always check and never delete, and I received NONEI have had enough of this sorry excuse for a company and will be cancelling this weekI'd rather go back to 56k than deal with Rise or Digis or whatever other name they change to in attempt to escape their past

Do not use rise broadband internet servicesWe had horrific service and then when we moved to a city they do not provide service they are still charging me a $fee for cancelling early They do not care about their customer in any wayI own a company and would never treat my customers so poorly!!!

We have sold our home I contacted Rise Customer service weeks ago to tell them about the sale of the house so as to put our account on vacation until next home is finished being built The lady I spoke with said that is no problem as I have been a customer for several years, but to call back closer to move out date to suspend the service I called back on Friday 4/and the representative told me that I was now under a contract that started in Dec I told her I have been a customer for years She then proceeded to tell me that I was under a contract that started in May ' I once again told her I have been with you for years since you were called Skybeam I told her I had talked to someone a few weeks ago and this was not an issue She is now telling me its a $term fee to cancel and suspending is not an option since I am under contract I told her why would I sign a year contract when I have been with you for years; My house is up for sale and will be moving;

Rise will contact you when your plan is approaching your data usage limitHowever, I am not using my data this muchI contacted Rise several different times and asked: What IP is primarily responsible for the overages? What time is the traffic on my account the heaviest? What is my daily consumption? The answer they provided was that they do not track any of that infoI asked how can you bill for usage you cannot prove? They replied they do not have to, they just canThe suggested I download my own 3rd party software and monitor it myselfThis is hardly service I find this VERY alarming that this "business" can simply say, you're using too much and up your bill whenever they want with ZERO proof or justification

My internet service has been out for most of this past daysI have made numerous calls in an attempt to determine what the issue is and what the company is doing about itThe recorded message when calling in simply states I might be experiencing slow or no serviceI knew that before I calledWhen talking to tech support, they have no further informationI requested to speak to a supervisor and promised I would be contacted no later than yesterday evening and most likely within an hour or twoI have received no callWhen speaking to tech support, they seem to be prohibited to transferring calls to supervisory personnel as they will only refer to them for a call-backThe customer service is [redacted] existentAt no time does the company attempt to update their customers as to the status of the alleged repairI wouldn't expect that on a short duration outage, but after one week, I feel they could offer some information In the meantime, I am paying Rise for a service I do not

On September I contacted [redacted] customer care, talked to a customer representative and made a payment if $informed him that I can’t afford to pay a month on a internet billAfter mins of talking he told me that he could help me out on my bill to a $a month with more data to stop the overagesAnd that he would discount about off the current bill by switching the new plan will discount the late fee and overagesStated if I could pay $on October then my bill would be current I confirmed that I would do thatunfortunately wasn’t abel to make the bill until the 5th of OctoberI called and paid just to find out that I have to pay the full I advised them that amount is not correct and I wanted to know whyThey said that late fee have been added to my account and that it’s still the $the previous months late fees and overages I told them that, I wrote down what I was told and that it’s not right for them to take back what they alr
