Scientific Pest Control

Review: I called Scientific Exterminating pest control company with concerns of rodents. The service rep inspected the droppings and told me he wasn't sure what it was but he would lay 20 small mouse traps (which he did in my cellar using peanut butter.) He told me that he would eliminate the pest for a fee. My dogs were extremely agitated every evening; they were smelling at the floor boards and barking. I notified Scientific Exterminating that the traps were not working. About two weeks after the first visit, I noticed something had eaten the underside of the kitchen floor boards (it is an old pine floor with large cracks.) Fortunately, it did not get through the floor. After that, I put the dog bowls and all dog food away every evening and the pest disappeared.I called Scientific Exterminating and explained that the fee for placement of some 59 cent traps was exorbitant and our verbal contract was the stated fee for pest elimination. The pest was never captured and the traps remain in my cellar (which is dangerous as I have small children. I tried to remove one and nearly caught my own finger.)Desired Settlement: I had proposed a reduced rate. I was willing to pay 50% of the bill. I sent a letter to this affect and followed up with a phone call but I did not receive a response. I have just been notified that I have been sent to collections. I would like the company to withdraw the bill and dismiss the collection company.

[redacted] had agreed upon an amount of 125.00 and it would be okay with us. We have been to her residence four times an initial set up 2-*-13and three follow up visits. [redacted] told the technician how we were to catch the mice in her residence. Upon the scheduled follow up appointments we did in fact catch nothing in our traps that [redacted] told us how many to use and where to place them as she did not trust us with the safety of her dogs.

It is company policy for customers to call and set up an appointment for any and all follow up treatments or to remove carcasass or any service complaint. We insist customers call to make appointments that are convenient for the customer and the service technician. Upon our last follow up treatment the basement was flooded and [redacted] was asked to call when basement was clear of water and that was all we heard from her. In June we agreed upon an amount . [redacted] paid $100.00 but not the agreed upon amount so this is why she continues to get the bill in its entirety.
