Scollard's Inc. Reviews (3)

I just came back from my vacation.  I feel sorry this thing happened while I was gone. Our company policy is any thing we did wrong we are responsible and we will reimburse it.But this case customer claim that we put glue stain on that shirt.  But we are cleaner.  How we put glue...

stain on that shirt?  We don't even have glue in our plant.  We believe that glue stainwas on that shirt in their possession.  But customer was not aware of that. That's why we asked to send this shirt to the lab which is customer's choice. So lab can say whose fault it is.But now regardless of whose fault I just want to make our customer happy. I will reimburse $50.00 if customer bring old shirt back to the store. Then customer can pick up the check.Thank you.

Review: My husband's shirts were dropped off on September 24th and cleaned here. One of the shirts came back with a big glue-like stain on the front. I brought it back and showed the person at the Liberty Lake store and she took it back to try to get the stain out. When we picked it up a week later the stain was still there. They ruined the shirt. When we picked it up, we experienced a very rude person at the Liberty Lake store already arguing that they were not responsible. She told us to call '[redacted]' and gave us her number. I called [redacted] and asked for reimbursment per their "guarantee policy". She informed me that they need to first send the shirt into a laboratory for the stain to be tested to determine if they are responsible before they will reimburse us. She said that if they determine that it is NOT their fault then they expected us to pay for the lab fee of $50.00! I explained that the cost of the shirt is $50.00, why should I bother doing that if clearly they are adament that it is not their fault and I have no way of knowing how this lab nor Scollard will determine fault? If they claim no fault then I am out a shirt and $50.00! So far they have given me no reason to trust that they will be honest in determining fault. The "guarantee policy" is a SCAM!Desired Settlement: I would like the cost of the shirt reimbursed.

From :Scollards Cleaners Case No.: 9808386

Mrs. [redacted] brought a wedding dress to press only not dry clean. Right after she picked up her wedding dress she called and said we damaged her wedding dress. So we asked her to bring it in for us to see If we can fix it. But the next day she did not bring that wedding dress instead she brought in the photos of the damaged part of the wedding dress. She listed five points of damaged parts.

1. Piece missing/ ripped from netting

2. Missing hook & eye

3. Threading that holds ruffle ripped

4. Hem frayed

5. Pinned where were ripped

Our professional opinion is

1. Piece missing/ ripped from netting

This problem is someone stepped on it so it ripped and missing.

2. Missing hook & eye

This problem cannot happen from a press only.

3. Threading that holds ruffle ripped

This could have happened from the pressing but this is a very easy fix, It just takes one stitch to hold the ruffle together.

4. Hem frayed

This problem happened when someone wore the dress not from the pressing.

5. Pinned where threads were ripped This just takes one stitch to hold the ruffle together

If she would have brought back the wedding dress we could have sewn the ruffles right away and we could have put on the hook and eye too even if we did not miss that hook and eye! But she did not want to bring back the dress to fix the problem. So other than the one stitch problem all of the other problems are pre fisting damages. We are not responsible for the pre existing damages. She mentioned that wedding dress was purchased second hand. Most of this type of situation happens because the customer does not realize the damages are there already. But if the customer is not happy about our service we are willing to refund what she was charged for the pressing $105.98.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I reject Scollards offer for reimbursement

of the dry cleaning as I am requesting reimbursement for the dry cleaning and

the dress they damaged.

In response to their letter they are incorrect in several areas.

I did call the cleaners to say they damaged

the dress as soon as I got it home and out of the bag. They said to bring the dress in the next

day. I brought in pictures instead of

the dress since they damaged the dress just pressing it, I did not want them to

further damage the dress before the wedding that was in just 3 days. Also we had it pressed and hauling it back at forth defeats that

purpose. The wedding was on Saturday and

I brought the dress in on Monday morning to show them the damage that matched

the pictures I showed them.

We did not but the dress second hand. It was custom made new from

Simply Bridal and I have several witnesses that can attest that there was no

damage to the dress when we received it or before I took it to Scollard’s to be

pressed.

Ripped netting – if someone stepped on it, it was someone at Scollard’s.

Missing hook and eye – we would have noticed it as it needs to be clasped to stay up and it was fine

before we took it to them.

Ripped ruffle – they admit it could be them, (which it was) but why would I bring it to them to fix when

they damaged it in the first place?

Freyed hem – The dress was tried on, never worn, and was fine before we took it to Scollard’s.

Pinned where threads were

ripped – again why would I have them fix it before the wedding, in 3 days, they

may make it worse.

There were no preexisting

damages. The dress was new, never worn,

and did not have any damage before we took it to Scollard’s. I am requesting a refund of $499.96.
